I like two today:
Fire Star Cant R7. really good record and proven first up performer. Pisanello is the danger (as no other horse has won at this grade) and probably wins, but im betting on fire star.
written bligh Sand R6 - just about a lock. again, great record, winning combo with jockey, big drop in grade where it has gone 1-2-1 at the class. if it doesnt win this race never ever bet on it again.
both have value EW so thats what im doing (using kelly).

i do have SfP black booked, but it is a BM64 so below my betting threshold. I check out the race though, has great second up form. what are your thoughts?
the race looks like a complete raffle, but gun to my head id say top 2 chances are SfP and Sea Strike

I can make a case for him.
Their nephew stays on, claiming down to 60.5kg, bringing him level with Sea Strike.
This time last year he kicked off with a 3rd behind See What I Sea in a BM78, then a BM84. Gets a BM64 here, looks well placed, it's never run in a BM64 before.
These Payne horses can pick up these wins on their way through to the jumps, seen it before. 1st prize is $33k, looks within it's grasp, I don't think it's a barrier trial. I'm happy to find out at $9.50.
Sea Strike is interesting coming down from the Brisbourne yard, it might not be a BM64 horse.
Not expecting much but have a small share in Roll Start in the next at Oakbank.

I'm not going to say that he's a top 5 hope this year but he's only lightly raced and got plenty of upside especially with his booming turn off foot
Quokka form is just not good enough. He was 4x the price of Headwall today who should have beat him comfortably with even luck and that horse is going to be struggling to even get a slot

Disagree on what though? Quokka form is panels below and Headwall will be struggling to be in contention for a spot and he and Overpass would be the clear #1 and #2 seed of the runners today to get a call
Owners wouldn’t even consider it anyway when the HK jet is coming over and they have the Winterbottom in Perth a few weeks later as a realistic G1 goal
