Why have you discounted Xavier as being the best 10As side?

Is it because the 9As from last year won 7 and lost 3?

If that's your reasoning, consider this...

5 new boarders will come straight into the side. Guns like Jordan Taylor and Charlie Woodley who will dominate the comp.

Xavier don't need to promote ANY of their Yr 10s to the seniors as they have the most depth in the APS with 8 Senior (Yr 11/12) sides and arguably the best 1st XVIII squad in the comp.

All of the other APS sides need to promote their top few Yr 10s to their 1sts just to stay competitive.

Essentially.... Xavier is going to smash you ;)

need to get the facts right

Also Geelong College should be pretty strong with Fraser Russell and Piers Flanagan carrying the side if they aren't playing 1sts this year.. Russell is an average hieght forward/midfielder great pair of hands and can run all day, did a 3k of lows 10's so deffenatly at the standard already..

we can all talk up our own schools but when it comes down to it xavier will be the team to beat

thats alright but i think that mitch woffindin sure to star for carey in the 10A's or even first XVIII. he was captain of the premiership yarra 1's u14 team last year.
 
in big news the u16 carnival is coming up and from carey crocker chapman and gaff are all training in the squad. all have great things going for them except for tom chapman.
the rumours were confirmed that he pissed his pants on the way to a race at the head of the river rowing regatta in 2007.

charlie woodle?? is that a joke he wouldnt dominate the comp he wouldnt even be in best 50 players of the comp..mate id think again
Skevs have also got a new gun Dillon Conway played state last year with Wallis and Libba...but probs might play 1sts this year
 
No, because Skevs will need to promote their good Yr 10s up to the 1sts to try and stay competitive. Scotch and Xavier don't have to do that, plus they have an injection of quality boarders (incl aboriginees) at that level. You won't beat them.
 
who cares about 10A's
the real test of a team is 9A's where the standard is much better
if a team has a few gun year 10's then they should be in the 1sts and if theyre not then theyre not worth mentioning here
clearly skc has the best 10a's but will struggle with libba, wallis and conway playing 1s
 
yeh thats true but some 1sts teams might have too strong a side to even include the gun yr 10's from their school

The one to look out for is a 192cm, 100kg kid that goes by the name 'fridge' . he is new to carey and is looking to play a predominant position in the (full forward) Noone can match his strength and skill. He has some relation to the Careys firsts superstar J.Lisle.

I hope your not reffering to the Xavier 1st, 2nd or 10 A XVIII last yr where we came top 2 in the senior sides and went through undefeated in the 10 A's competition mate, dont under estimate Xavier and their boarders as well as their players. 06' Skevs won the 9 A's but ended up getting absolutely flogged, belted and smashed by the Xavier and Scotch sides in 07' 10 A's as well as their highly talked up 07' firsts team. Xavier seem to mature far more in the period from 9 A's to 10 A's. Last years 10 A's went through with the lowest margin out side of 1 pt from Scotch being 30 or so odd pts.

Do not count them out for a top 3 or 2 contention.

both their 2007 9As teams were absolute rubbish
 
But the thing with both XC and SC is their teams seem to mature and develop majorly together through the transaction of 9 A's to 10 A's. they both become very well threaded teams regardless of how good theyre players are, how are MGS and SKC looking for this years 10 A's comp?
 
xaviesr 2007 yr 9's were fair trash. hopefully they can get up to the level of the yr 11s and 12s this year who both were standout teams in yr 9 and 10

yeh his a good runner ran in the 800 and 400 for the skc aths team and his an awesome footy player tough as nuts and in the u16 chargers side might play a few games in the 1's for skevs this year

lol i thought alex rowe ran the 800m and 400m 4 skevs, being the best in aus 4 those events.......
