I hope Mrs local doesn't mind you posting her photo ;)

So you're saying Ottens never played in the center for the whole game?

I'm saying that Ottens was not our main ruck for most of the game. He spent most of the day in the forward line, with King doing much of the rucking in the centre. Hence, 12 hit-outs. He wasn't our only ruckman for the day, or indeed for much of the day.

The same year you tanked out to get Judd. The state side attitude needed to be revitalized I suppose :)

Yeah, the Eagles tanked.

As a recruiting strategy it's a bit more certain than having Gary Ablett knock up every woman drunk enough to have him in the hopes of breeding your way to a flag. :p

I'm quite sure hitouts are not the only stats he's being judged by. 15 touches, 6 marks and two goals ain't a bad return for someone who got touched up by a great player in Grant.

Exactly, and to all the "trolls" out there proclaiming that Ottens is a Dud I think that the Port Adeliade game summed up his worth to the club.

People forget that Geelong aren't the type of team to have just the one or two multiple goal scorers. One week Chappy will do the job, next week Kingsly and the week after that Ottens. We are only just into round 7!!

1 good game out of 7. At this rate you'll get 3 good games out of him.
All the best. ;)

Gee isn't everyone jumping on the West Coast bandwagon early. It's too hard to judge them whilst they're in such great form simply because they only finished 7th last year and, in my opinion, only managed to jag a finals appearance through a barnstorming finish home. This year, no doubt they'll make the finals, and probably top four, but it's way too early to judge them.
There's still a question mark over how good the Cats really are - top six, at the worst, or, after a few caffeine tablets, top two? - but at least last year's Geelong was the real Geelong. The rest? Give me another five rounds please.

IMO i think that we will have a much better side in 2 to 3 years time. In the next 4-5 years we will only lose Riccardi and Sanderson to retirement and I think Milburn will be our oldest at about 31 or 32. Buy then the young talls will have developed (eg Playfair, Mackie, McCarthy, N.Ablett, Lonergan, Spencer, etc) and at least one will be a influencial key forward. Also in that time players such as Tenace, Callan, Byrnes, Gardiner, etc will have well and truely found their feet at AFL level. Our midfield will just be hitting their peak and i cant find any problems with our defence. Having said that i believe that we are 1 of 5 or 6 teams that can win this years flag. IMO the team has improved on last year even tough we were just a couple of kicks away from a Grannie. The forward line has become much more structured and we are just waiting until it truely kicks into gear. Ben Graham may have been enough to win the flag this year, but there will be plently of opportunites over the coming seasons to break the drought.

GO CATS!

The experience itself has created hunger and a knowlege of what to expect if they ever reach that stage again. I assure you West Coast and the Demons will act as wide eyed school children as we did last year if they reach it.

Although I thought St Kilda really were a polished act against Port. We played better against the Lions but didnt dare to win.

And you guys have already penciled in a win against Carlton in melbourne. The same team who humiliated you in the wizard cup final?
melbourne have played in 6 finals games in the last four years. inexperienced??

Your kidding yourself if you think your mother wouldnt have slept with God if he approached her after a game.

Depends if he gave her a hot shot first (as was his MO). If he did, well, anything's possible.

Maybe he DID!

Awesome, I've got a Geelong contract coming my way!
