If you have a look at our list, nearly half are outcasts and rejects from other clubs: Shaw, A. Everitt, Josh Kennedy, C.Bolton, Mumford, Mattner, McGlynn, Richards, Seaby. And you may add an ex-Canadian rugby player to the list, a few Irish lads and TDL - a guy no one wanted.....are the Swans a team of rejects/misfits?

Would you say these guys feel a certain camaraderie and bond to each other, considering they are here because the Swans gave them a second chance?

I think a lot of is talked about of this "bloods" culture of the club especially transfused by Maxfield & Kirk...but I feel the cornerstone of the Swans culture is this feeling that these guys from other clubs are here playing to prove themselves.

What do you think?

Soon to be a premiership team of rejects.

Very similar to our 'foreign legion' team from the 30's. Let's hope we match their success.

The thing is we are recruiting better rejects these days and younger too. I really think we have turned over our list better than anyone in recent times bar Collingwood. Not enough is made of this.

in the 1850s the Chinese miners on the gold fields were very successful in finding gold by sifting through the rubble the other miners had dug up and discarded.

The other miners hated them for it but yet they made a packet.

A lesson for us here.

Yeah listen to CAS guys.
ME > YOU

From memory none of these players were delisted from their club and were targeted by the Swans.Sure their clubs might have put them out their on the trade table but if the Swans never showed interest and pursued them they may have stayed where they were. Some of these blokes would have been very hard to come by during negotiations so i would hardly call them rejects.

Feels a bit like a football orphanage.

Could say we gave them the family they never had.... Sad but uplifting at the same time.

Mumford and mabe Bolton would be the ony 2 whose teams fought to keep them, McGlynn and Kennedy were fringe players who asked to be traded and all the others were offered up for trade from memory.

It's the ones that the others reject ,that makes Sydney the Best!:thumbsu:

Yes we are rejects and when do we expect to win our next premiership.
GWS will have more chance than us.
We have never developed our draftees
Poor judgement by Roos etc. looks as though the Horse is following the cart

LOL! I smell a troll

Have you ever heard of Kirk, Goodes, O'Loughlin, J Bolton, Kennelly, Bird, LRT, Grundy. (many more.... ) Jude Bolton is the only high draft pick that lot that were developed by Swans

NO NOT REJECTS. Just Swans have missed only 3 finals campains in 14 years. Short of finishing in bottom 4 (tanking for a extended period) then only alternative is Swans MUST TARGET AND TRADE FOR THE RIGHT PLAYERS!;)

pffffft GWS:o.... tug away!:D

Actually John West's policy is the opposite of ours. But I get what you are saying.:D

It's not like John West goes around the docks picking up the dead fish that have been thrown on the floor by other less knowledgeable fisherman, dusting them off and then using them in his highly successful range of Chilli Tempters....

Or does he...
