I think for the first time since ayres took control, that our team is starting to play decent footy again.

If we can fix our forward problem up, we can be a finals threat, no doubt about it.

GO YOU CROWS!

My Tip : Adelaide to beat Hawthorn by 5-10 goals

So far, thanks to channel 7, I've only seen one Crows game this year, although I have got the Carlton game on tape, so its pretty hard to judge how they are going.

From what I've seen the skill level is still way below the top sides but they seem to be playing with a lot more G & D over the last couple of weeks. The North game was a better win than the Carlton mud slog due the more scientific approach taken into dry games.

I like the improvement of Crowell and Clarke in particular. Beinke always offers something when he plays and I hope the selectors stick with him. We will miss Sugar and Vards though.

I'm sure we're nothing like a wooden spooner but still miles from a top 8 side.

Playing at York Park evens Sundays game up. I'm predicting (hoping) that Hawthorn will follow Collingwood's 5-0 start last year and fall over this week. Crows by 13 points.

adleaide to beat the hawks by 5-10, thats a little bit confident..
the hawks are playing awesome footy at the moment and aren't gonna do a collingwood
the hawks are the real thing so y don't u all just except it...
go the hawks 2001 all the way

I don't think we're miles from the Top eight but we do still a bit to go before we can classify ourselves as being BACK. As Spogs said we're playing with a bit more passion, guts and determination now, which is making up for anything we lack around the ground.

At this stage though I can't see us beating the Hawks, especially without Vardy and Johnson. The Hawks look to be a top 2 side and they have the advantage all over the ground. There is always the risk of a thrashing but I'm hoping we don't lose by more than 6-7 goals, which is what I believe will most likely happen. If we keep the same mental attitude we shouldn't succumb by too large a margin, but a win seems completely out of the question.

Go Crows!!

The most positive thing for the Crows going into this contest is that the Crows greatest strength (midfield of Roo,McLeod,Goodwin) is Hawthorns main weakness (Roo odds on to mess up Crawfords hair and put him off his game).

Stevens and McGregor have shown good form on oppositions key forwards, if Hart can get back to some of his better form and Gary isn't stupid enough to have a mismatch on Lord like the Wanganeen-Smart one then the game could come down to if the Crows forward line can kick enough goals to win. (They will need around 15 in good weather if the backline stands up).

I think this contest will be closer than what the ladder suggests, provided that the Crows play a man on man game, 1 on 1 i think they have the edge in the middle, but the hawks half back/foward lines will do too much damage if the midfielders arent playing with their man.

I don't want to see your assessments of the Crwos Port01 - regardless of whether you make sense or not.

HB for tomorrow by the way

Ahh well we lost, we deserved to win i think, only if we kicked straight!!!:(

No team that loses deserves to win. If the crows didnt sto pfor 15 minutes (again) then they wouldnt of been 8 goals down, and they wouldnt of had to work their way back. In the end Hawthorn made the most of their chances while Adelaide didnt.

Ah Macca, always refreshingly negative :D

Anyway I don't think we "deserved" to win, but I do think we should have. There might be some goal kicking practice this week at training methinks..
