We are the worst run club in the league. Constant poor recruiting compounded by the fact that we take years to sack the responsible recruiters, only to replace them with people trained by those same recruiters. Poor list management compounds this, seriously what ******** thought it was responsible management to have no developing key backs forwards or rucks on the list with an eye to the future? Shits like Elton and griffiths were clearly not up to it years ago, why are they still there? Who have we been grooming to take over from Astbury or Rance these last few years? Oh right...NO ONE

That's just one area where we are pathetic. You make your own luck to an extent, and we make all our own bad luck by being so inept and taking too long to recognise or even try to fix mistakes.

The lesson wasnt we picked the wrong players, its that we didnt develop a system to make our own. We didnt have a system of evaluating prospects beyond grs gut. We didnt manage costs versus income. We were 20 years late to the sponsorship game. We were 30 years late to developing membership as a serious revenue source. We had no accountantability until the point when the wheels fell off

in all seriousness, we are not cursed, but have employed the wrong people to take on important roles. however after almost going under in the late 80's, the club took a very, very long time to get back what they lost - too long in my opinion. our major downfall over the last 20 has been the lack of resources spent in recruitment. recruiting the wonrg player puts you on the back foot from the start and during the 2000-2016 we bungled too many drafts.

once our footy department realises that cannot win a premiership unless you have 2 or 3 very good key forwards and lots of tall midfielders, and recruits for them, we wont do much come september
