I would be avoiding a twice delisted rookie like the plague

As a Richmond VFL player he will be there to aid in the development of our kids, not get in their way.

I think there is improvement there albeit slow.

The midfield is coming along with the likes of Vlastuin, Miles, Lennon & Ellis having plenty of upside. I expect one of Duggan, Weller or Ellis to be drafted with pick 12, so the building blocks are there.

I thought Griffiths took a step forward last year & if Vickery & Astbury can find some consistency then I would expect a top 6 finish.

There are still players that are suspect when the acid is on eg Grigg, Houli, Petterd & Chaplin to name a few, but the overall quality of the list is improving.

Look at Coburg's vfl tesm last year apart from Carnell they just played kids and by seasons end they got some good young talent
Yes they didn't win many games ,but they were looking at it as a development year
Now Coburg has nowhere near the dough as us to throw around or the afl players,but there is no way they would put Cachia on their list
It's just my angle on it

But we don't want to develop VFL players, we want to develop our AFL listed players. We can't afford to put a weak team of kids forward in the VFL as we already have a bunch of kids there developing, except those ones are prized juniors who we know have the skills to make it in the AFL. To do what you suggest would just give you more reasons to criticise the club for not developing out draft picks properly.

Rubbish we already have the staff and facilities available so how could we lose on it as they're going to be training with the boys anyway

Yes to a certain extent, but you must remember that there will always be players that are going to see out their careers/contracts at the club in the 2's. We would see these players as dead wood, but while they are still in contract they are still entitled to give their best and expect the same from the coaches even at VFL level. I guess I'm saying you cant isolate them while they are at the club, because we don't see them as answers in the 1's.

Agree here , but we still have to consider team balance and without the right set ups it can be a detriment to the boys on our list that we are trying to develop for certain roles

Agree, so if the team requires balance then not all players will be seen as rookie prospects, just to help promote the team and its endeavours, which was my point exactly.

I don't really think DH has improved as a coach during his tenure
He needs to lead from the front.
He is still tentative to make changes and slow to pick up on game threatening situations
We have lots of these minor flaws to fix up if we are to actually improve or gain on our opposition
Simple things like elevating Matress Thomas over Miles shows coaching teams inability to recognise talent

Dear Livo nobody is slagging off the club.The threads purpose was to see if we were genuinely improving.
All my points are justified based on our results. We have discussed this endlessly throughout bf threads.there are media articles verifying my statements.
it would be best if you could supply evidence of the contrary.

In defense of Livonski mate , he has and there is also ample "media articles" backing up his rebuttal as well. I think the problem here is the lack of accepting a differing view and moving on, not saying just you either TI as its easy to be that way, god knows I have done it from time to time. I don't think the club is Jesus incarnate, but I honestly do not comprehend your posts about Richmond being content with the current position, or idle, or all talk. Please explain why you think this? It just doesn't make sense.
