I'm going but I strongly dislike this timeslot.

I'll be going. Not really a fan but I can manage one night a week on less than 6 hours sleep and go to work the next day. A few of you need to harden up.
It's a bit rich to live in the country and complain events in the city aren't always catered toward you.

Look, I've had a carlton supporting mother, a carlton supporting brother and a carlton supporting daughter, all due to quirk of geography. That's the thing, it's all good and well the AFL saying that it is the start of the school holidays so will be fine for the kids, but what about the majority of adults who still have to get up to work the next morning? Particularly those that make the trek from the 'vline' zone, it is a massive pain in the arse. I'm just lucky I'm going in with a Carlton supporting mate who is driving or it'd be almost too long a night to make it worth going.
Advertising pays better than bums on seats."What they want" is becoming the NRL at this rate. Superb tv audience and no one at the ground.
It is against a crappy side, just not as crappy as your criteria. This is the first game I won't attend as a member in my life because of the timeslot. If I go to the game I would be getting home close to midnight and that doesn't leave enough time for me to sleep and get up for work the following day. I'm very happy that this is our only Sunday night game of the year. I wish it was against some crappy side so I wouldn't feel as bad about missing it.

Here's a video with AFL Commercial Operations Manager Darren Birch who is already conceding the Ess v Carl Sunday night time slot will be down on regular attendances between the two clubs.
Comments start at the 4.50 min mark.
the golden goose is probably the billion dollar television rights deal which almost certainly will continue to heavily grow with each deal btw
DIAFi understand if you live 2+ hours away or have very young children but to even mention what time you have to get up for work the next day as the sole excuse to not do something you love the night before is frightening.
live your lives folks
YOLO
I will be there. Wouldn't want to miss seeing us hand Carlton their arses on a platter.

But I've never had a carlton suppoting mate, I think that is an oxymoron.
They are at work this morning too. Happy (but ****ing tired!) days
Nice to see the old name back! It's still a stupid timeslot, but hell it was good fun.
I got to Flinders St 30 seconds after the 10:03pm Craigieburn train left, then I had to wait 30 mins for the next one. Not good enough when 62000 people are trying to leave the area. After earlier saying no i finished up going although my prediction that PT would be crap turned out to be true.
If it was a footy team Carlton might have beaten it last night.
I never understand why there aren't more Craigeburn line trains after an Essendon game, as that is what line a high number of people get onto after our games. Actually a lot of Carlton supporters use that line as well.I got to Flinders St 30 seconds after the 10:03pm Craigieburn train left, then I had to wait 30 mins for the next one. It was JAM packed. The original train was stuffed too so I was all lined up ready to get a seat and then they announced it was to be the platform behind me. But then I just replayed the game in my head and I was very happy
