It would be awesome if he is a regular but with him being imprisoned on the island at the end of season 2 I can't really see how he can have more than a couple of minutes an episode.

Yeah, I reckon, if at all, he will show up towards the second half of the season (can't see him being involved much early on unless they show us him in his cell every now and again plotting revenge or something). Will probably be giving Malcolm and the new Ra's Al Ghul character a lot of screen time instead.

Ah it's good to have Arrow back. That was a pretty good first up episode with a nice cameo from Brandon Routh (I hope they give him more air time in the next couple of episodes). One thing I wasn't clear on was:

was that Malcolm who shot Sarah at the end?

Either Malcom or Ra's al ghul i am leaning more to Ra's al ghul

Was expecting something like that to happen all episode, they sort of hinted at it all the way through
and then I sort of forgot and didnt see it coming at the very end

Great return ep.

The hong kong story line looks promising especially with the parrallels I am expecting them to have.

Its good to have felicity back in my life haha

Yeah that one caught me out as well and I agree that it's not likely to be Malcolm back so early.

We watched Arrow and Flash tonight and for me both episodes showed why Oliver Queen starting out as a vigilante, fighting non-super criminals and then gradually building up to the Hood then the Arrow worked so well. Will definitely watch the next few episodes of the Flash just to see how it sets itself up but kind of expect to drift away at some point. Maybe the same as when Agents of Shield started, one superhero series might just be enough for me.

And did they overdo the superhero tie-ins? I know they are setting up the new seasons but still, discounting the villains there were still at least 4 DC characters introduced/easter egged between the two shows.

I reckon it was Malcolm personally - think him killing one of the League of Assassin's members (while also being a hunted outcast himself) will draw Ra's Al Ghul into the fold to try and hunt him down.

Sara always had to make way for Laurel at some point to be come the Black Canary (if they are following the source material), though with Ra's on the show this season, maybe the Lazarus pit will be something they bring into the show at some point? Especially since Nysaa still has feelings for Sara, maybe she'll get her dad to save her?

Looking forward to the Hong Kong flashbacks too - they definitely needed to change it up after 2 seasons with the island.

Roy's costume looked sweet too! Interested to see what happens with Diggle this season too - didn't expect his baby to come along so soon in the season.

Liked Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh's character) too - think he'll be a great addition to the cast moving forward.

i doubt it was Merlyn. my money is on Komodo, But rather than having him with the Robert Queen backstory they will have him as a rouge from the League of Assassins. something like he walked out with Sarah and is now killing her to make his way back in to Ra's good books.

Actually forgot they cast Komodo! That's not a bad guess. Thinking back now, Sara would likely have reacted differently if it had been Merlyn or Ra's.

Read over on IGN someone suggested Thea (and even went to the trouble of justifying why it had to be her).

Thea's not a bad guess especially considering Sarah's reaction. Hope its not though, whatever they do with Thea it'd be nice to see a bit more variety than having her come back as just another leather clad archer (I knows there's already been archery/speedy hints)

it wont be Thea. i think they are going to try and have Ollie and Merlyn team up at one point this year, And there is no logical point in having Thea killing Sarah, its not like Merlyn wants her dead and she doesnt need to prove anything to him. If it was Thea the show has jumped the shark and would be as consistent as the AFL's MRP.

It will be someone trying to get back at Ollie/the Arrow. or someone trying to get to Nessa

I thought that was a very good season premier, best of the series. My first guess is that it was Merlyn at the end. Maybe Sara was back in Starling to hunt him down?

One of the things that annoys me though, is to see Roy almost instantly transformed into a superhero. He had virtually no training before being injected with the Mirakuru and then all of a sudden could hold his own against the Mirakuru super-soldiers, and shoot a bow like he's been doing it his whole life. They need to have someone kick the crap out of him soon to show that he's not invincible and still has lots of learning to do.

Also with the whole Queen Consolidated thing, I don't know much on the subject but shouldn't Oliver have very good legal rights to get his company back? Seeing as his psycho business partner who helped to almost destroy the city manipulated his shares in the company? Surely he was the victim of a crime?

True although I will say, some of his early episodes where he was still stealing purses etc he was a capable fighter in his own right when he had to take on dudes in alleyways. I suppose we'll have to believe he's a fast learner.

The other thing with Roy is that isn't it technically 5 months on from the events of season 2? I remember he started training a bit last season (with the slapping of water thing) so I guess there has been a bit of time for him to train up.

One thing I hope they address/touch on is what Ollie, Diggle and Roy now do in terms of employment? Surely they need an income to support themselves when their not fighting crime!

The bar?

I could be wrong but wasn't there a scene in the episode where the club was all shut up? Looked like it had closed down (think it was the scene where Ollie awkwardly asked Felicity to dinner?).

Verdant got shut down by Isabel.
Plus there is no one left to run it.

Just on Sarah's death it cant be Merlin because she said 'What are you doing here' in a sincere voice.
I think its odds on that Nissa killed her with Ra's a distant 2nd favourite.

The rank outsider is Thea.

Laurels acting wasnt so bad in the first series.
But series 2 and 3 its just downright cringeworthy and pathetic.
I mean the chemistry between Arrow/Felicity-Helena was top ****in notch. Then Sara a distant 2nd.
Laurel series 2 and 3 is a joke.

I think the acting in general on the show isn't all that great.
What makes the show is the storyline and ability to keep the audience engaged.
Well that's my reason for watching it!

Anyway, good start for a new season, ending was quite unexpected!
