Are there any groups of people that might have ulterior motives to start fires?

How do they know it was arsonists?
Ha Ha. That's just wrong. The epochtimes is just rehashing stuff from other sources with no checking.
Give up on the leftist trip of the abc and the guardian

Good point but the point of “direct human involvement” shouldn’t be overlooked because it wasn’t deliberate.Ha Ha. That's just wrong. The epochtimes is just rehashing stuff from other sources with no checking.
24 in NSW, none in Vic.
It's not 183 as claimed in the propaganda piece from the Australian - https://www.theaustralian.com.au/na...3/news-story/52536dc9ca9bb87b7c76d36ed1acf53f Only 24 were arsonists, the others stupid. They are so keen to push this, it's not even behind a paywall. If you read deep in to the article eventually you come to this paragraph, which finally represents the situation with some reality, as opposed to the headlines and the start of the article. I guess if you are quoting a goverment source you just can't make it up.
"NSW police data shows that since November 8, 24 people have been arrested for deliberately starting bushfires, while 183 people have been charged or cautioned for bushfire-related offences."
The last group are the stupid ones.
Two things to keep in mind about arsonist causing fires. First they are almost impossible to stop. The second is because we are hotter and drier, in a large part due to global warming, then the fires they start will be worse. So the argument sort of becomes irrelevant.
BTW Many victims have thanked the ABC and attributed their survival to it. The Australian has, of course, attacked the ABC's coverage.
I read on the net today that the koala population in Victoria could be zero after these fires. I don't care if they're sick or not they need to be shot. Or better yet set them alight and see how they like it.
