Artillery in Adelaide

Odd request - is anyone able to list off a few specific locations they happen to know of, where old artillery pieces have been placed as monuments around Adelaide?

I can think of two or three that I have seen, aside from Fort Glanville of course, but I can't for the life of me remember exactly where they are.

Any help would be grand

The War Memorial at the corner of North Tce and East Tce Opposite the Botanic Hotel?

Used to be one on Osmond Tce just South of Kensington Rd, possibly has been moved.

The Keswick Barracks has a military museum that is open every (second?) Sunday or something, although I've never been. That might be useful. Maybe Google it or give them a call.

Marion RSL has a gun out front, seems like a vietnam era arty gun.

That one I know but took a while to remember where I'd seen it - it's actually a 20mm Oerlikon AA gun of World War 2 vintage, if I recall correctly.

The Marion RSL is getting a decommissioned Leopard I tank donated to them for use as a static display too, but sadly it's not there yet.

Im talking about the Marion RSL on Norfolk road. Its most definately not a 20mm AA gun.

Oerlikon 20mm's were often used on naval ships werent they?

Is this all for some kind of book/website or are you just an arty-spotter (like a train-spotter)? :)

Yeah the Oerlikon was primarily a short range AA defence used by the various Allied Navies before being replaced by the bigger Bofors 40mm, but it was also used as a land based AA gun on several mounts, and variants of the weapon were also used on board aircraft, most famously the Bf 109 and the Zero.

Not a spotter, just looking for a place to take some photos with a bit of a military theme.

Oh nice, I have a bit of an interest in ww1/ww2 equipment as well.

I know Cowell has a bofor near the foreshore that even has its manufacture plate on it, Port Lincoln has a gun near the main oval in town thats same type as the marion gun I think.

Shame that big navy gun near Port Wakefield was moved (to NSW I heard). :)

It's out the side of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. It was a German gun, captured by Australian troops during their rapid advance in 1918.

There's one on Druggy's Hill (Pioneer Park) in the main street of Gawler. And not exactly Adelaide but I know there is one on the Copper Coast or Yorke Highway just past Pt Wakefield.
