I will say this again, early on Reid SHOULD NOT have Played on J Brown.
And he should have been dropped and Brown should have replaced him (N Brown)

Hopefully when Goldsack regains form and fitness we can have him back instead of Reid.

Brown on Reid was a man against a boy.

Why wouldn't you go with Presti on him from the outset?

Because Reid was never going to be able to cover Fev from full back, should have played Nate to go on brown

I thought we controled most of the game. It was the turnovers that killed us, if you don't hit a target these days any team will hurt you on the rebound. Some simple skill errors need to be rectified, i'm not to worried just yet.

Been happy with reid the last few games, last night he was taken to the cleaners by Brown. No doubt N. Brown would have been a better option seen as he has more body strength but that's all well and good to say in hindsight.

Was at the game and when I saw Reid starting on Brown I was definitely worried. It was probably malthouse throwing down a challenge to his young player and obviously he wasn't really up to it on the day. But still confident in reid as a long -term prospect. Presti was brilliant - i also wish he could play for another 5 years.

Cloke - WOG
No he wasn't. That's unfair. He tried under the circumstances of poor delivery. The disappointing aspect of that is that Collingwood is capable of much better delivery than what they have shown in the last two weeks.
Wood - wake up please
He has been disappointing. He showed more signs of being a better player last season.
Reid - How is he getting a game?
He's been getting a game because he has been good, and he will become a good defender, but he was poor last night, and he should not have played on Brown. Maybe Collingwood felt that Reid could do the job due to Brown's recent form and injury concern, and if they were thinking that way, then I always concerned that could happen. Brown and Fevola should always be treated as fully fit if they have been selected to play.

I wouldn't bank on Goldsack. I think Reid is a better player. Goldsack is handy depth, and can play a role from time to time adequetly, but that's all.

Reid was not as bad as people make out, Presti had the same amount of goals kicked against him.

Brown had presti done cold on the lead a few times but the lions either chose the wrong option or went for goal themselves, for example see the Mcgrath kick at goal that failed to make the distance after brown wrong footed presti and had 20m on him.

Brown is a superstar and Reid held his own as well as could be expected at this point in his development, Presti was more competent but he is also vastly more experienced and physically hardened player.

See Brown shove Reid in the back and take a mark and goal in the first quarter as well? That's a goal that Brown kicked on Reid when Brown should have been penalised.

Comparing the amount of goals kicked on them is somewhat simplistic, Presti performed much better on Brown than Reid did which is to be expected. They may have had the same amount kicked on them but Presti played on him in the second half where we were playing awful and the lions were dominating the midfield, Reid played on him in the first half where we were playing much better and the Lions midfield wasn't doing whatever it wanted.

True, but he wasn't saying Reid was as good as Presti based on that simplistic comparison, merely that Reid wasn't as bad as people were making out.

Without that massive shove in the back, Reid's numbers would look solid. It's valuable experience for him and the crux of it all is; if we'd come to play in the midfield and our zone had held up, we still would have won by 6 goals. We're only analysing this stuff because we fell down in other much more basic areas.

I wasn't just comparing goals Presti was better but Brown had him done cold on leads at least 4 times and didn't get the ball kicked to him, some of Brisbanes mids can get goal hungry, Presti is the better match up but Reid wasn't the reason we lost and he needs the experience of playing on the best can only benifit him in the long run.

Reid didn't lose every contest vs him and Brown, Brown had the better of him but it is being overblown imo.

I agree, we didn't lose the game here, we lost because the midfield got soundly beaten which puts pressure on the backs and gives forwards bad delivery.
That said I think we got the backline wrong, Brown would have destroyed Reid so Presti had to move to him which then allows Fev to get loose on Maxwell and stops Maxxy being the third man up at contests. Last week I thought Brown should have stayed in the team but not sure if it would have made a difference. I think I just want Presti to play on for ever.

I don't understand why people are blaming our back line with Fev and Brown up front 88 points is not the problem. Our mid and forward was the problem, Brisbane's back is decimated we should have kicked 120+. Structure fell apart again.

It seems Collingwoods 'inspirational' leader manages to fly under the radar in these poor efforts and people seem to ignore him when attacking everyone else, now if there was ever a contender for WOG it was definately the Skipper who managed to allow a player who was having the worst night ever seen by a forward end up being a match winner when he moved onto him

Add in his sensational effort in the 1st half when he thought he would try and take on an opponent on the Brisbane goal line and throw the ball away handing them yet another gift from his stupidity, well it truly was a great night for him

If everyone else wants to blame our best forward for the year for failing to kick a bag when he had 3 opponents hanging off him all night then I will shift blame where it truly lies, a lack of leadership or skill from our captain who can only be 3rd man up in contests and handball, cant kick, cant mark or beat an opponent 1 on 1
