I have to admit, I was very sceptical when this was announced but it does look like a huge step up from DBC 17.
to be fair, has there ever been a cricket game where the commentary wasn't awful?

Looks pretty much identical with a new paint job.
Pass.

"thats gone maanny a mile"
I noticed that too. People have been begging for it since the first game came out. Instead of just patching at least an option in at some point in the last 3 years you now have to buy a whole new game to get it.In all seriousness it does look ok. Interesting they have the fielding radar when Ross himself and his brown-nosers took to abusing people when they questioned why it wasnt it the game in the first place.
Honestly, I think that it is all part of a positive re-position for the big ant cricket series. These ‘new’ (they seem more old school to me) controls and the addition of licensed players out of the box makes this a far easier game for casual cricket fans to pick up and play (most importantly, kids).I noticed that too. Why are commentators so ******* boring in these sports games.. Richo comes to mind.
Surely there's a producer in the studio with them going "look I need you to actually sound interested at all"
You'd be better off auditioning for "great wannabe commentators", choosing the best and paying less money for a better result, sometimes.
At the end of the day i just turn off commentary, because i find it has a psychological effect on how you play. Like in AFL, do you really need someone saying "that was terrible", so it might as well be more entertaining and in tune with the style of the game.
Commentary is really only there for audiences watching in a passive state and being idle, you don't really require it as a player of the game, because really you should be fully immersed and reacting yourself.
There has been some good commentary in sports games in year gone by. FIFA holds a reasonable standard today, but Andy Gray was the best IMO.
