He should be an excellent player, but let him get a good run at FC cricket before these calls are made.

How good is he as a batsman? Because I'd imagine once Beer comes back it ill be difficult to fit them both in unless Agar could play as somewhat of a bowling all-rounder.

Good technique, but not as developed as a Coulter-Nile or Hastings. Could bat at 8 in the future

I'd have him in there ahead of Maxwell.. as a batsman and bowler.
So his two first-class innings' have impressed you so much at 9 that he's ahead of a bloke who's clearly a better batsman? I know you don't like Glenn but this is completely ridiculous

Victorian*

Amazing how the Vics claim Hastings/Wade and David Hussey even Spofforth in some arguments but also sang out to Colin Miller and Adam Dale when they played for Australia while playing for Queensland and Tasmania respectively..... Make up your mind eth-dog. You can claim Agar but need to disown your imports playing for Australia.

I do. Wade plays for Victoria. He's a Tasmanian though. Hastings is a New South Welshman, as is Rogers. David Hussey is a Western Australian. Just like Ryan Harris is a South Australian

Of more concern is how is it that two quality left arm tweakers have left us to pursue opportunities in the West. Surely Holland isn't casting that big a shadow that there is no place for any competition?

I think it's the combination of that and WA's last spinner was Aaron Heal, who was terrible.

everyones hyping him as the next big thing? He has played 3 games of state cricket combined, he is 19, give the kid a chance to develop, rushing him in India wont help much either, further proving that they are eager to get rid of Lyon.

he absolutely is. Holland has gone on two aus a tours, been called into the aus OD team a couple of times and pretty much gone to the centre of excellence at every opportunity. CA and CV love him.

Extremely unlikely to play, but if he impresses in the nets, the seamers are useless and Doherty spuds it up like expected, who knows?

It's extremely unlikely 'cause he's only there from the 9th-16th, a week in which WA have no games and when there's a tour game in India in which there's a spot to fill (and i guess leaving doherty back here instead of playing in that game is worth discussing). It also allows them to pick another young spinner (eg Boyce, Zampa, Turner etc) for the first couple of Aus A games against the England Lions.
