wtf happened?
hey guys, i need some serious help here. Any comments and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Living up here in BNE there's not too many AFL supporters let alone SC fanatics. So my mate and I decided to place a number of large bets on this year's SC. We've done it a bit different and haven't gone for league ranking. we've gone for who's got the most points by the time one of us gets knocked out of the league. bets involve buying the winner gear and sporting the opposition's colors to the pub, shouting and more. This changes the strategy quite a bit... i think
I started great guns, scoring 2300+, but it has all gone down hill from there. Now i'm looking at other SC teams and thinking WHERE DID IT ALL GO SO WRONG???
here is where i am at the moment;

10 trades left and only $6,100 in the kitty
NOW, i have burnt a few trades & made a few mistakes. Hille to Seaby early on for example, bringing Buddy in and then dropping him & not getting PODS early as well.
I have also brought premiums for top dollar and seen them drop in scores and value although this doesn't phase me too much as they're not going anywhere - i'm keeping them anyway.
The main problem that i have is the amount of rookies i have in my line-up. if was say that maguire is a keeper i still have to upgrade Waters, Shepherd, Martin, Fyfe & Davis. And the thing is becuase of the most points scored way of the competition that i have with my mate i need to do this asap to get the points on the board.
I've backed myself into a corner here with only 10 trades left. SO I PUT IT TO YOU where to from here...
Ideally I would like to get gilbee, Buddy and maybe even PODS.
I'm thinking of maybe downgrading Maguire or Martin and upgrading either Waters to Gilbee or Martin to Judd.

My guess is that the normalisation calculation applied to all games for SC scores has caused this. I would have only thought it was a multiplication factor, and thus a zero would remain zero, but maybe there is an offset applied also.
I don't think 1%ers contribute to SC scores, but am not 100% sure.
The other option is he scored 1 point for a handball receive, without getting a possession away. Then that may have been multiplied up to 2 via the normalistaion.

I am a Fyfe Knocker and i made the call that he would be dropped in 2 weeks. Ok well he played well against a poor sydney outfit last week. Im suprised he had done this well and he will be a good cash cow.
But JM, its a long season, would be very suprised to see Fyfe playing every game. Anyway will have to see, im gonna be generous and give him another 3 or 4 games in the ones before hes 'rested' or playing WAFL.

Nah mate there was lots of talk about what a spud move it was for me getting Fyfe from PK Le Grand in particular but also others. Also talk of him getting dropped after 2 weeks, etc. I am here to prove them wrong.
I noticePK Le Grand has all but disappeared and is quiet as a mouse after I gave him a flogging in our Bigfooty Div1 match last week, wheres all the big talk from him now? LOL!

Just wondering what position you would rather be in. 6 trades, Ranked 250th (Similar to Judd Magic?) or 550th, 13 trades, $250k (Similar to me)?
Its an interesting one, its harder to make ground in the 2nd half of the year as teams get increasing similar. I also know injuries have a lot to do with it.
What are everyones thoughts?
Just wondering, how complete is your team? Mine is 3 premiums away from being finished (Waters, Maguire and Fyfe)
