Not sure if this will fly or if the Mods will delete this...or even if the AFC will respond...heres hoping

I want a single thread where we can ask the AFC any questions we have.. please try and make them half decent ...not ''why didnt Maric get a game yesterday'' ..to show the areas I want this to head Ill give a few questions I have wanted to ask

1. Does the club do psychological profiling on recruits before or after drafting?

2. What will be the targets at this years draft?

Id suggest that question 2 would be giving far far too much information away.

NC already highlighted this though

He has said we will look for a tall forward, crumbing forward , midfield and a utility

It was more an example of the type of questions to ask

So we're looking for talls, shorts, middies, and utilities. Specific. :p

1) Does the club admit that it has a problem with its use of first round draft picks, and if so, what is it doing to rectify the problem?

2) Considering the amount of players the club has lost to the "go home" factor, will we still stubbornly pesist with the costly "always recruit the best player regardless of state of origin" recruitment strategy?

Two loaded questions right off the bat. Good job.

I don't think this thread is very fair on afccomau. Among others I am appreciative of the answers they provide when they can but they should reserve the right when to answer questions rather than be pressured in this thread.

As for psych testing draftees, all clubs do it at Draft Camp. Along with the physical tests they do this is a major reason why Draft Camp is held.

<<< for your second question

Agree. Id also like to think that when people are going to ask questions they could atleast be respectful with it. Its not like the club has to interact with us at all here, and considering the reputation these boards have, i think its great that they do.

No doubt...its why Ive left it to the mods to determine if it is a worthwhile project to continue...if AFCCOMMAU is willing then great , if not, no biggie...just figured it would be easier to have 1 central location to answer or respond to questions

:)

As far as leaving the thread is up - that's fine.

Whether afccomau replies is another thing. They are certainly not obliged to - and may feel that it's not appropriate to.

There's certainly nothing wrong with asking the questions. We are grateful that the club chooses to contribute from time to time - but from my perspective - their committment to the Club, here, or our success should not be judged by whether they reply or not.

The thread stays - perhaps we can use the opportunity ourselves to discuss possible answers

The second one is definately loaded but I don't see too much wrong with the first question.

Its a 'when did you stop beating your wife' question...

The answer is either 'Crows have a problem with our recruiting', or its 'Crows dont admit they have a problem with their recruiting, doing nothing to rectify it'. Its a lose/lose situation.

You don't need to do this, all you need to do is e-mail the club (strigg@afc.com.au) and they will respond to sensible questions. Much as I have concerns about a few things with the club, they always answer correspondence if it's thoughtfully put and not just a whining diatribe (pardon the pun:D).
