I think it's a reasonably popular opinion our assitant coaches need an overhaul;

Bickley - probably needs to move on
Campo - ditto
Clarke - rubbish
Milburn - probably keep

But who do we get to replace them ? Established assistants"? Or recently retired or going to retire players. Personally if I were AFC I would throw a s-load of $$ at Stuart Dew, the man has the midas touch and knows what it takes to win premierships (Port, Hawthorn, Sydney).
Anyone else, any ruckman retiring soon ? Or forwards ?

Who is out there ?

Would love to see Tredders hired as our forward coach. Maybe it's too radical.. hiring a coach who actually used to play in the forward line?

I'm not fussed about whether Bickley stays or goes, but if he stays then he needs to be our midfield coach, because he seems to have no idea at all about how a forward line should operate.

Campo & Clarke can collect their cheques from Centrelink.

Now you're talking Vader - Tredrea would be a great get.

Bickley needs to move on though, for the good of us, and himself.

****ing this.

I think we need at least 1 or 2 experienced assistants brought in, I think Sando needs as much support as he can get as a rookie senior coach.

As much as I'd hate to be seen to be just picking off Melbourne's failed senior coaches, I reckon Neeld could be a good addition, was part of a successful Collingwood Team under Malthouse and whilst he's failed as a Senior coach, he was regarded extremely highly as an assistant.

Rodney Eade would probably be a great pick up as well but I doubt he'd move anywhere for anything short of the senior gig.

I like the thought of Tredrea, successful CHF who has had success with Tex and radically enough was actually a forward...

Love that idea. He seems to have distanced himself from Port Adelaide somewhat, so I reckon he'd be open to the idea of working for the old enemy, provided he had the desire to get into coaching.

I'm really keen on getting Giansiracusa in some coaching capacity when he retires. He is a great leader and an incredibly intelligent player. I would love to give him a crack as our forward coach.

Forward - Tredrea: Someone said on the radio a couple weeks ago that some Crows forwards had requested to the club that they offer Tredrea the Forwardline coaching position. Don't know how happy the Club would be in this idea given his recent articles. Nick Riewoldt would be another one I'd be interested if he pursues a coaching career over media career. Would like Darren Jarman as a goalkicking coach. Maybe they could move Bickley to reserves team coach and put Tredrea in as forward coach?

Defence - In the future when Rutten retires, would like him to get a position as a development coach working with the young defenders.

Tredrea is the obvious one but there is no way the club would go near him after all the home truths about us he's brought to the attention of the masses. Total agitator.

Agree 100%.

Need to get some smarter minds, particularly for match day.

Tom Harley, bring him home.

Has shown interest in coaching holding roles at GWS and as assistant at the AIS academy. You could tell on Friday he loved being in our box and on the bench. The Geelong connection is there with Sando, and he's an Adelaide boy. Priceless recent experience and oozes success and calmness under pressure. Would be a fantastic get imo.

Defense coach to start, sky's the limit when Bailey moves on and Sando matures.

I might be wrong but I think the club has already tried that. Personally I'm not sure he or anyone else can do much to help with a player's technique by the time they reach draft eligible age. It might be best to simply recruit players with good skills who lack in other easier to fix areas, like fitness. Perhaps we're already doing this, given we recruited Grigg who is quite skilled but had question marks over his speed when he was drafted.

****ing this time 2.
On issue is which of he and Dasher coaches out of position?

Well that and the lack of interest in coaching too date.

Would Simon Goodwin come back as an assistant if he lost his job after the Essendon scandal?

Did you see the game a few weeks ago where he was sub and they had him mic'd up the entire game? Definitely has coach potential in him.

Modra would be a decent goal kicking coach too I reckon. Still slots them through with ease when he does that game day pre-match competition.

Didn't Tredrea help Walker in the off-season a few years ago? Would be an excellent get as an assistant.

Like the Tredders idea. PAPs already have Edwards and Rhen.
Any love for the Hound? Or is he too much his own man.
Should be getting Bunji more involved in the club. Development coach or something.
Need to get coaches who were stars in their positions. Also need to get coaches that have tasted success under good coaches. Gia would be good, but the Bulldogs are hardly a powerhouse.
Mods as goal kicking coach as we suck atm.
Need to find a decent coach who can teach tackling as we suck at that as well.

Cameron Ling would be an awesome midfield coach. Channel 7 would probs be kinda pissed with us though if we fleeced them of Harley and Ling :D Keen for a coaching gig though isn't he? We would be every Geelong fan's second team haha

He rated the Crows midfield as the reason they'd win the Premiership this year. He obviously thinks highly of Danger, Sloane and the others.
