Thrilled we've managed to find a new way for Sanderson and Harvey to show their incompetence. What's the afl record for longest assistant coach at 1 club without a flag?

Id like to know what the longest streak a Coach and his Assistant have gone without winning a flag? :D

The backline coach themselves.

Midfield will be the challenge. Allegedly Treloar was uncoachable so maybe with him gone Sanderson will come in and look like a genius!

Not sure what to make of the forward line. Maybe it’s as much midfield delivery as anything else!!!
But Anthony Rocca is our ruck coach, makes sense right?

Maybe they could try a ruckman as a ruck coach, might be too bold of a strategy for them though.

Caroline Wilson? LMAO get serious.. please never refer to her football knowledge, which is nil
She didn't cop any dissent from the rest of the FC panel. I don't recall the details, just the overall impression that he wasn't highly regarded as a potential senior coach.

I suspect that Harvey and Sanderson's contracts are tied to Buckley's in length.

I'd like to see them go too but the club would have to pay out their contracts and there's no way that they are doing that this season.

I think our coaching structure is so underwhelming.

If you are a quality assistant coach in the AFL with good depth of experience and performance, you inevitably get sounded out by other clubs. Longmuir is a classic example - performed incredibly well whilst at Collingwood and other assistant roles and is poached by Fremantle for senior coaching gig.

But we seem stuck with Sanderson and Harvey. No other club is seeking them out and it's embarassing that Harvey has put his hand up for so many roles and has been rejected.

I don't know if they are good or bad coaches. But refreshing the voices in the room around Buckley every 3-4 years I would have thought would be a good thing. Harvey been at the club what 11 years.

Disappointing to see the club not being a bit bolder in our coaching ranks.

They let Hocking go and he is a better coach then all of them.

It's so deflating, Harvey couldn't get our midfield that was the envy of other clubs clicking, now they put him as the backline coach, what the hell is he gonna do back there. So frustrating.

Now you're trying to fix problems instead of perpetuate them! What next?
I'm sorry! How about Jarryd Blair instead

Robert Harvey was:
Carlton Development and Midfield Assistant Coach (2009-2010),
St Kilda Midfield Assistant Coach (2011),
Collingwood Midfield Assistant Coach (2012-2013),
Collingwood Senior Assistant Coach (2014-2015),
Collingwood Senior Assistant Backline Coach (2016-2017),
Collingwood Midfield and Transition Assistant Coach (2018-2020)

AFL Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year noted: Harvey was awarded the AFL Coaches Association's Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2013 for his efforts as Collingwood made an eighth consecutive finals series.

The three clubs that he was short listed for a senior coach gig were St. Kilda in 2011, Carlton and NM

If assistant coaches are judged on their records.....

So he was given an award because Collingwood made the finals eight years in a row even though he was only there for the final two when the team started to slide?

So 2021 is definitely shot, from a development perspective also.

Pendles, Sides, Howe all the ageing stars just playing for coin now - won't see another flag. :(
