It's a massive joke how every state has a different system yet scores all get merged into an ATAR score.
You only compete with your own state, so the people from VIC for example aren't competing against the people from WA.

The ATAR set up so that the different states systems can be compared.

When does the ATAR come out for VCE? If they have their exams later do they just have a much more efficient marking system than NSW?

Results 14th Dec and Mark 15th of Dec for HSC. Keennnn.

Well if results are up in SA anyone care to share?

If you're in SA, can you check the ATAR of other people?

I would... like to know...
In Victoria if you knew someones VCE student number and pin (DDMM of your birthday) you could. Think it would be fairly frowned upon though.

I'm shitting myself for Friday already, I'm confident I did well but I really want to get into my course.

This is exactly how I feel too. Results come out on 14th for us, and ATAR is out 15th. I don't really want to look at results... will be freaking out the whole day... So nervous for 15th.

EDIT: THANK YOU BOARD OF STUDIES FOR MAKING IT 6:00am. Will defs be able to sleep. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Western Australia isn't out until December 29. Are we the last state (like we are for everything else)? Are you guys having gap years? I'm currently having minor stresses about college accommodation...

DECEMBER 29! That is so brutal. One day before my birthday :D Enjoy your Xmases hahaha..

No gap year for me, I just want to get straight into it :)

Curious to know how many people applied for SALT/SNAP?

It really doesn't matter what score you get, that applies only if you get into what you want. I just finished my degree and was never asked for it after the first month of my course.

I know people with great ATAR's that dropped out, and I know people with shit ATAR's that lifted their game and are better for it.

Am gutted. Had externals of 89 and 84 in business and economics which I'm going to appeal because that is just too low for my usual standards and it's not right because I found both exams very very easy. Can't see me getting a raw mark that low so the aligned one is a surprise. 2 more marks in both hsc marks and I would be looking at 98. Now that I'm looking at 96-97 I'm so so devo. I just hope they got something wrong with calculations, I've never gotten anywhere near that bad in anything else.

That's really, really unfortunate. I'm sure thousands of others are in that same situation.

You might as well appeal it, they won't deduct marks -- the only outcome is a better ATAR, or one the same.

Is there a chance you can scrape in with the 97? I know people who have gotten into courses requiring 85s, with ATAR scores of about 70... One mark might see you get in.

Saying that, you've done very well. As I understand, your ATAR is a 97? That's more than I can ever hope for (through no fault but my own laziness).
