I saw the game as well - wasnt the greatest match and Fernado had his mental fart BUT this could be the tourney that defines Tommy - Always had the tallent but NEVER the self belief - beting Fed & Fernando (hopefully winning Miami as well fingers crossed) could be the key that unlocks it

Could be but I think Soderling is playing the better tennis and should beat in the semis unless he has a complete brain fade like his match with Roddick in IW. Should be an interesting match.

Kim should of won that match so much easier than she did, 6-2, 3-0 up, she was just blitzing Henin, dictating most points, she was the deserved winner in the end. Yes, I would like to see these two play a bit more often this year (although i wouldn't call this one that high quality, Brisbane was much better). Entertaining matchup.

Now plays Venus in the final, if she wins she boots Sam out of the top 10.

Tomorrow the men's semis, 4am Nadal/Roddick, 10am for Berdych/Soderling. Soderling/Nadal final is looking good.

Berdych to win the title

I almost posted yesterday that wasn't going to happen at all, i have to agree with roostersgal, what are next week's lotto numbers? Although, Roddick outplayed Rafa not outmugged. Was very impressive and aggressive tennis, been wondering that has been from Andy. Soderling again shows how much of a muppet he really is.

For this final, Berdych might be playing well enough to outpower Roddick, but today's match proves that Andy will have a gameplan and that might be the advantage i'll give to andy at the moment.

Kim comfortably beat Venus in the final 6-2 6-1. In Miama, she has once again hit the form from the US Open last year. It will be interesting to see if she can maintain this consistency up for the clay season. I think Henin is primed nicely to really have a crack at the French title.

Berdych way too good for Soderling. Robin is just a very hit and miss player, on his day he can beat anyone and paint the lines all day long but on his off days he'll struggle to get a ball in court. During yesterday's SF the latter was the case, and Berdych played some brilliant tennis too, his defensive game was outstanding. Looking forward to the final, a huge result upcoming for one, really hoping it's Berdych as this could potentially do wonders for his confidence. A confident Berdych is a scary thouht for the rest of the tour.

Rafa, geez, is he ever going to win another tournament? Yeah, and probably in a few weeks when he's back on his beloved clay, but my goodness he's struggled to win titles over the past 10 months. A ton of QF's and SF's but he's struggling to go the distance and his record against top 10 players during this time frame is terrible. He managed to beat Tsonga but let's face it, who couldn't? What's really puzzling to me is that in both Indian Wells and Miami he looked to be cruising to the final and both times he seemed to fall apart. No doubt Roddick lifted his play and really hit a purple patch late in the 2nd and early in the 3rd, but there's no way that happens to Rafa at his peak. I can't remember opponents winning any love games when Rafa was rolling let alone winning 10 straight points to close out the set as Roddick did. The losses to Ljubicic and Roddick were particularly staggering because of the fact Rafa was well and truly in command of both and let them slip. It goes to show that if opponents start taking the ball early and dictate play he can really be dominated on hard courts, so much so that it's hard to imagine him claiming another hard court Grand Slam.

I don't think I've ever been this excited about the clay court season, IMO it's going to be one of the most interesting in recent memory. I can't wait for Monte Carlo, stunning location to kick off the European clay court tournaments. There's no doubt that if Rafa struggles to win on clay then there will be some serious doubts emerging internally about his ability to win big matches and tournaments. He's always trying to remain positive but Rafa looked really angry with himself during the Roddick match, very out of character as he's normally so calm, so sure of himself. Also a huge clay court season for Djokovic who's got to get some form back. I thought he looked extremely flat and well short of his best at this same stage last year (despite posting much better results than in '10) but then it all started to change back in his favour when he got on the clay courts. As ridiculous as it sounds, there's a little part of me that actually thinks clay might even be his best surface, I think his potential on the clay is enormous. He's got a lot of points to defend with Final points at MC and Rome and SF in Madrid, so he'll want to get back to his best quickly.

Roddick won the final 7-5, 6-4 for anyone who watched it. Just got the job, played smart tennis again, used the slice a lot, eventually Berdych would have a poor service game, he wasn't serving very good overall for the match. Huge boost for Roddick, who heads into his couple of months off called the clay season and a great week for Berdych too, now to back up this result.

Looking forward to MC now.
