Would it be possible for this board to arrange a Question and Answer session with someone from the club (Neil Craig, John Reid, Steven Trigg or a player) to answer some question the supporters of this great club may have?

The diversity of this group is huge and everyone doesn’t live in metropolitan Adelaide to go to anything like this (i think there was one last year at the carols by candlelight last year with frizzy)

Clearly it would have to be heavily moderated because buffoons from other clubs would come and troll but it has worked in the past on other forums and internet chat rooms.

This is not a demand or a criticism if it's not possible but just an idea to open up an alternative form of communication between the club and supporters.

How about posters put their questions here, then the mods can select the best dozen or so, sending them to Trigg or Reid in the form of an email. We will then publish any response here on BF.

This way there is a buffer between the inevitable idiotic suggestions and the Crows management.

Sound like a plan?

That sounds like a good plan Stan.

That way no one can embarrass the entire board with some dumb@$$ spur-of-the-moment question...like me for instance.

Q2:
The media reports only on a few statistics - kicks, marks, goals, etc, and these don't really give a true picture of how a player is performing. Champion data goes some way to address that, but even so, we know that the AFC has their own internal set of KPI's and stats that are tracked and measured.

Can you give us some insight into the kinds of metrics that the AFC tracks, how they are tracked, and which players acheive the best rankings in each area?

3. Does the club/Neil Craig have a clear plan/timeframe of how and when our next premiership will come or are we merely playing on a year to year basis hoping for a good result?

12 isn't many - what about 24; half selected by mods, half voted on by the members?

Could be good though - I'd suggest there'd be some more intelligent, insightful questions coming from this board than at a normal press conference.

These are busy people - particularly at this time of year, with draft camp happening this week, trade week next week, followed by the announcement of our delistees.

I feel that 24 questions is a little excessive and is too much to ask of them. 12 questions is around the maximum that I'd feel comfortable asking them to answer. If they indicate that they're happy to engage further then sending a second round may be possible.

Fair enough.

However i don’t think the mods should select what questions are valid and what ones are not. Unless its defamatory, all questions should be sent t he club and they decide on what one is answered.

But i am happy with the e mail suggestion.

I also should have qualified it by saying – this doesn’t have to happen straight away but in a few months when everything in the football department has settled down. Maybe in the middle of December or January when there isn’t a lot of football news around.

This is a good suggestion.

When I say that the mods will decide, we will obviously take into account the views of the board. However, if there are 3 or 4 people asking essentially the same question we'll only pick 1 of them. If there are some idiotic suggestions, then we'll automatically cull them from the list. The questions which have been suggested so far are all good ones to be asked.

Yeah ok, sound ok to me.

Q: What specific areas does Taylor Walker need to improve to make his AFL debut next year and do expect that he would make an impact at that level?

does the club reconise that the stats while wearing the red clash jumper is below par and in fact actually quite bad, has this been disscused with the playing group or is it really just badluck?

My question.

Since being drafted by the Adelaide Football Club it appears as if the ability of James Sellar has stagnated, is this more to do with him playing as a backup ruckman at the Glenelg Football Club or the player himself?

Would the AFC recommend to him that he change clubs to improve his chance of playing as a key forward if he is to spend time in the SANFL during 2009.

Thi is a very interesting question. But the answer would be a lot more interesting.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

When ranking potential draftees what is valued higher by the club during the - pure football skills or athletic ability?

This question has been answered on two occasions that I'm aware of already. The answer may not have been to everybody's liking but was the only answer that should have been given. At least in my view.:)

But it could also be very ambiguous that they don’t really answer it. :(

I'm sure that the answer would be a politically correct answer so it would not be satisfactory.
Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, the SANFL clubs have got the right to play afl players in whatever position they see fit.
I may be wrong but I remember something about Mickan getting upset last year when the AFC suggested he play Sellar in the league. He said something about Sellar needing to try harder to hold his position. Or something to that effect.
I know it seems silly but I believe that the AFC thinks that if they try to interfere with the SANFL clubs too much, the clubs may play hard ball and not help much at all.
