Give this man a knighthood, the prime ministership or something to honour his achievments. What he has done in such a short time and again on the pitch tonight is nothing short of remarkable. The tactics, formations were things we were never going to see from tactically inept managers like Farina.

The likes of Mourinho, Guus and Rafa are what I term "modern managers", their methods are very similar: Team over individual, builds a side from the back, very big on the team working hard off the ball, prefers a lone striker, and all 3's tactical sense and nous are quite similar

What Jose has done with Porto, what Guus has done with PSV, South Korea, and now us, what Rafa did with Liverpool last year in the CL, speaks for itself. Superstars don't matter, as long as you have a manager who is tactically astute and gets each player to fulfil their respective roles, you can compete against anyone.

You make some good points CD.

Managers like Jose, Guus, Kossie and John Gregory know how to get the best out of there team. ;)
 
We would not have qualified under FF.

I laughed when Guus was given South Korean citizenship last WC, they should have an Australian printed out and hand delivered by the time he flies out.
 
Genius!

Aussie Guus stuck by what told the press in the leadup to the match, and most importantly it worked.

I loved watching how calm and measured he is during the game compared to that nut Fossati who is throwing soccer balls at our players.

I really look forward to seeing what he can do to our team before Germany'06.

They should sign he up long term as we now start in asia to qualify for the asia nations cup which i belive is like euro cup the euro nations play in. With him we could win it.
