Or the fact that Caroll and Lua Lua are hopeless ??

Troisi is far from being an EPL player but is well above those 2 already. IMO it is in his best interest to find a club that can at least put him in their 15 if not starting XI.

Wycombe Wanderers snap up Villa's Herd
tribalfooball.com - March 14, 2008

Wycombe Wanderers have snapped up Aston Villa's Aussie midfielder Chris Herd on a month's loan.

The midfielder, 18, has spent time out on loan at Port Vale over the last two months - scoring twice in 11 appearances - and goes straight into the squad to face Hereford on Saturday.

Boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website: "Because of injuries to Sergio Torres and Matty Bloomfield and Tommy Doherty's suspension, I felt we needed to get someone in."

What are you basing that on DT?

The fact that Troisi is Australian?

IMO he's impressed more in the reserves than the other two for the role he plays.

Carroll plunders reserves defences cause of his mere height more than anything and KLL is more raw pace and not much else.

He's also a far better player technically from what I've seen of the three (Reserves highlights, Olyroo outings) and possesses a creative spark that even the likes of Milner and Duff don't at this stage in their careers.

Not saying he's an imminent firecracker of a gun, far from it, but the fact he hasn't been handed a first team debut yet while the other two have is a joke.

I'd currently rate LuaLua ahead of him from what I've seen and heard, but he'd be better than Carroll.

As Pim said, he really does need to leave though. He's not going to be a first team regular for us, and he needs to find somewhere that he'll at least be getting a regular bench place.

CCC/Holland would be a perfect fit IMO.

tribalfootball.com - March 18, 2008

Goalkeeper Chris Sharpe has become the first Australian to sign with an MLS club.

The former Southampton keeper has joined Colorado Rapids after agreeing terms over a deal with MLS. Rapids coach Fernando Clavijo and his No2 John Murphy moved quickly for Sharpe after he became available following trials with LA Galaxy.

The Australian, who begins his MLS career after several years in Denmark with Viborg and Koge, is contracted to the League, with Rapids currently having rights on him.

Sibum-Holman-Vadozc, wat een middenveld.

Sibum-Holman-Vadocz, what a midfield.

Voor mij was Holman man of the match, deze week even op en neer om met Australie tegen China te spelen, normale mensen zouden kapot zijn maar hij rende de longen uit zijn lijf!

For me Holman was man of the match, during the week flew to Australia and back to play against China, normal people would be destroyed but he ran his longs out of his body!

FC Twente trials for Queensland Roar striker Kruse
tribalfooball.com - April 04, 2008

Queensland Roar striker Robbie Kruse has been trialling with FC Twente this week.

"We want to take a look at him in our environment," said Twente coach Fred Rutten, "before deciding whether to offer him a contract."

Kruse was discovered by Twente scout Jan van Staa during a talent spotting trip Down Under earlier this year.

SOCCEROO midfielder Vince Grella has confirmed Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri's interest in signing Harry Kewell - while urging Mark Viduka not to put his Socceroos commitments in premature mothballs.

Grella, who lives in Turin, the home of Juventus, said that Kewell's move to Italy was more than speculation.

Kewell's five-year deal with Liverpool ends on June 30 and Grella said: "I saw it (the link to Juventus) in the (Torino) paper maybe two weeks ago.

"It hasn't been talked about that much but when I was at Parma with Claudio Ranieri (in 2007) he asked for a lot of information about Harry.

"At that stage he didn't talk about a Kewell move to Juventus because he didn't know he was going to become the manager of Juventus."

Grella said Ranieri adored Kewell's style and the work ethic of some of the other Socceroos.'

"He was one of maybe three or four Aussies Ranieri asked me about.

"But he does know of the Aussie players and loves the mentality. He thinks that we're very underestimated as players. It could be an advantage for him."

Garcia who? Quiet Australian ready to star
April 13, 2008

AUSTRALIA'S possible next Premier League star is someone you've likely never heard of, who has never played for the Socceroos, and plays soccer for a team in a city crazy for rugby league.

While he may be unknown at home, Richard Garcia can list Chelsea's Joe Cole and Manchester United's Michael Carrick as friends and Nigerian World Cup star Jay-Jay Okocha as a current teammate.

Garcia, 26, has starred this season for Championship side Hull City which, failing a dramatic late collapse, is poised to win promotion to England's top flight.

Originally from Perth, Garcia has taken a long road to the top. A talented teenager, he was a key member of the legendary 1999 West Ham United youth team alongside Cole, Carrick and fellow Australian Michael Ferrante, now with A-League side Wellington Phoenix.

But after a wide detour via England's third tier, Garcia may finally be about to arrive.

"I was getting stagnant at West Ham, being on the bench, playing bit parts," Garcia said. "I took a step backwards to get where I wanted to be."

The step backwards was to Colchester United, but after helping it earn promotion to the Championship in 2006, he joined ambitious Hull at the beginning of this season.

"It's rugby league country up this way and there's big competition with football but the city is dying for the club to do well. Last season when they were close to relegation they were still getting close to 23,000 for every game. If we do go up to the Premier League we will definitely have support," Garcia said.

Garcia's club future is bright but his international prospects remain in the dark. A right-sided midfielder, Mark Bresciano and Mile Sterjovski have a head start on Garcia but excellent form in Hull's Premier League charge should tick boxes for national coach Pim Verbeek, who demands his players be regular performers in tough leagues.

"I was in the frame for the 2004 Olympics but I got injured just before the qualifiers," Garcia said. "Other than that, I haven't had a sniff.

"Hopefully, if I keep playing well for my club, something will follow. That's all I can do. You never lose hope, no matter how frustrated you get. I like to think that if you're patient you get your chance."

From the little I've seen of him on the CCC Highlights show he's certainly seemed impressive. Give him a crack, Pimburgers.

Aussie defender McGowan wins new Hearts contract
tribalfooball.com - April 16, 2008

Aussie youngster Ryan McGowan has won an improved contract at Hearts.

Just days after winning the club's Young Player of the Year award, McGowan put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with the Jambos.

Hearts directors were happy to rip up the defender's previous five-year deal, which still had over two years to run, and hand the Adelaide youngster a new agreement.

Coach Stephen Frail is expected to hand McGowan a first team debut before season's end.
