I wasnt sooking at all, simply said they will make a difference. I also said Freo deserved to win, which they did, They were harder, more skilled and better.

Ok, so when one club mentions that injured players would improve their team if they had them that is sooking but not so when you mention it in relation to your team, even though your OP states that you just get on with it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Three weeks ago many people wrote the Pies off. Since then great wins against St Kilda, Port and Sydney have entrenched the Pies in the 8. Tonight the Pies were missing Rocca, Didak, Heath Shaw, Rhys Shaw, Thomas, Rusling, Brown and Reid. Instead of sooking about injuries and suspensions to key players (like some clubs who use excuses), the Pies have got on with the task. The future is bright at Magpie Land.

Tonight proved you right....oh wait you had injuries :D

Kids or not, this is a team that was in contention for a top-4 spot a few hours ago.

What a horrendous performance, just watching it made my eyes bleed.

Agreed pretty much sums it up.

There was no dount though that our minds were elsewhere tonight and just didn't look liked we gave a stuff at all. It doesn't bother me, we played that softly and poorly that tonight was more or less a week off in a sense, won't be too many tired bodies I wouldn't think. Don't expect to see the same type of effort next week, any smart football follower would know that.

Yes almost good enough to finish 12th.

14 wins 2006
13 wins 2007
12 wins 2008

See a trend?

Your older better players have either retired or are past it. Next year Burns, Didak and a few more will be gone. You don't have one kid that can actually win the pill.

Your supposed quality kids haven't improved your win/loss ratio. It's a smokescreen that's been put up by MM.

A week off? What a home final wasn't worth playing for? Good grief that was beyond words tonight. As Bucks pointed out young or not as professional footballers those errors and lack of run and purpose was disturbing.

Enjoy the extra week, the travel interstate and the consequent thumping. Another failed finals crusade for the Pies? I'm sure you are used to it :)

Yes travel in finals really worries us. Just like when we won Interstate last year or when we beat Port. Enjoy being one of the worst teams in the comp for the 4th year running and enjoy your continual Collingwood envy.

How little you know. Didak will stay. The youngest team being fielded each week is Collingwood and the kids have been good enough to get them to another finals series. I would suggest Travis Clokes contested marking means he can win the pill, Pendles ball gathering allows him to win the pill, Thomas breaks games open by winning the pill. The greatest smokescreen is Essendon thinking they have had a good season. 12th again
12th 12h 15th, 13th...... see a trend.

Which part of Collingwood do I envy? Is it the appaling drinking culture? The 1 flag in 50 years? The most grand final chokes in AFL/VFL history? The constant finals failures? The fact that you are another rebuild from being a flag contender? No, it must be the 2 less flags? I'm stumped.

We have a pretty good crop of young players on the way up, players that have stood tall over the last month and come up with a few good wins. 1 loss to Freo and all of a sudden we have to rebuild

The fact that we own essendon one on one over the entire history of the game, the fact we now own ANZAC Day, the fact our most recent final against each other was an 8 goal Collingwood Premiership Victory, the fact we have more members, bigger crowds, more supporters and when it really counts you dont come close to us head to head. Keep your envy out of it.

It definentely was and I don't disagree with you at all. We played that poorly, softly, without run and accountability that I don't actually think that any of our players worked hard enough or with enough intensity to come up sore from this match. We played like crap round 22 against Adelaide and we bounced back strong for the finals, that's why I wouldn't read too much into this performance. Then again, anything can happen next week, especially with Collingwood.

how pathetic tho

it was the same last year

we lost our round 22, and essendon and carlton spent their time trolling collingwood about how we're going nowhere and their team is on the way up and all that bullshit

fast forward one year later. again we'll be playing finals, but yes we dropped our round 22. and essendon and carlton are nowhere again, and again they will be spending their september trolling our team

i love it :D :D

another year of mid table mediocrity.

Actually I would have thought that finishing top 4 last year was not middle. 16 team comp and you think top 4 is middle, nice maths. What you Bombers fans wouldnt give for a mid table finish. Will you ever make finals again, are you the new fitzroy.

Not true.

The first 11 rounds you went 7-4 with an experienced side. Mostly around the 25 avg age with 90+ games.

In the second have you've gone 5-7 with a few injuries. Add to that playing Sydney twice who you can beat just by turning up and beating a Port side who's not interested. Your second half to the season is Melbournesque and your kids aren't as good as you like to think.

Yes good enough to have us top 4 last year and good enought o have us in the 8 this year with an horrendous run of injuries and suspensions. Quality kids who make finals.
