Anyone want to list their worst offenders on the faux accent front?
I've found a few problems with the English trying a US accent, they seem to put a growly voice on when speaking in an attempt to make the 'arrrr' but it seems to stink up their whole effort.
Two actors I find particularly bad in this respect are Hugh Laurie and Rachael Weiss. In addition I flicked on the TV one night, a show called Medium was on, never seen it before and immediately noticed a male actor (the husband) pulling the same trick. I'd never seen, nor heard of him before and immediately thought "that guy's English." I pay a visit to imdb and sure enough he was.
In saying that, I couldn't fault Helena Bohnam Carter in Fight Club.
Going by the trailer for Body of Lies, Russell Crowe seems to have quite a stinker going in that.

rince Of Thieves. He just could not hold his accent in this film at all. It kept wildly fluctuating all the way through, making it a very difficult film to watch.
It's classic regardless
