Everyone, i have just heard some very bad news about troy simmonds...

We are all aware he went into hospital with a "virus" but it turns out he has a blood clot around his lung. There are rumours his career is being threatened by this, thats the severity of it. But Lets hope this it not true.
This is terrible news for him and i wish him a speedy recovery!
He will not be playing for the rest of the season which is good so it gives him time to recover and get well!
Lets hope its not to bad.

sorry mate

its actually a serious topic, and a good post

thanks for the news

Returning to footy should be the last thing on his mind. Just try and lead a long and healthy life mate. Get well soon:(

The f@#king Richmond curse continues. Any player at this club that starts being a dominate force in this comp is struck down with injury.

I used to be a courier and had to get out due to the threats. You turn up 20 minutes late and they're calling for your blood! It was never this bad.

As I said in the All the Best thread, there is nothing stopping Simmonds from playing for another 3-5 years. Hird also suffers from clots and has continued to play at the highest level. I know a bit about clots as many members of my family have had them. As long as he takes the blood thinning drugs there is no real reason he can't continue to play.

Same with me RT, my mum has blood clots, it doesent stop her from doing anything at all, as long as she takes the right dosage of blood thinning drugs.

Another example - Andrew Gaze, battled with clotting and thrombosis for most of his basketball career, It didnt really chage how good he was at all

Give Troy the off season, he should be back fighting fit. *crosses fingers*

Get better Troy ... it sounds like he was lucky, going by the Tiger doctor today. Could have been unnoticed and then wham.

meanwhile, didn't we once have a ruckman called Trent Knobel? As far as I can tel, he's been listed as "ankle - 1-2 weeks" for about 18 weeks, although I note that today on richmondfc.com.au he's been upgraded to "test", which probably means he's two months away.

Does anyone have a clue how far away he actually is?

(and yes, I do have DreamTeam considerations as well as Tiger loyalties riding on this)
