AFL announces draft will move to prime time

THE NAB AFL Draft will be conducted at night for the first time ever in 2009.
Footy fans will also be able to tune in live to see who their club selects, with the draft to be shown live on pay television
Bazza set to be the star of the show with what should be the first two picks. I can hear the stumbling over player numbers already.

No news whether they will preselect picks 1-10 out the back and then announce them 10-1 - which was mooted during the year. Not a bad idea but I like it live and would like to see them open up with Pick 1 - Tom Scully.

Hopefully the Draft isn't drawn out & four hours long, I'll only be tuning in for the first round & when Melbourne's number comes up.

On HS i read that it will go for an hour and a half...

i'd prefer a longer coverage than 1.5hrs personally. more player highlights, statistics and interviews would be good.

surely they have to start at no.1 - there will be no surprises that tom scully is the top pick so they may as well get the obvious out of the way, do some interviews etc and then get on to the more intrigueing selections from 2 onwards.
