It’s fun. I’m only playing because I have the ghetto Origin Access which allows a 10 hour trial. I wouldn’t have even given it a thought otherwise. Better than BF1 but there is still another 9 hours for that to change.

It’s a bunch of air hangers and buildings with zero cover between the points. I bounced around squads until I found one that didn’t want to just camp but we usually got mowed down before being to able to even reach other points, let alone actually capture them. The only proper combat was taking place around the main hanger in the middle which was C. I only played it once so maybe other times I play it may be different. Twisted Metal gave me the shits too but it wasn’t so bad once my team won the bridge. That bridge is a sniping camper’s haven.

Bit of a nerd criticism but I was excited when I had a spin in a German tank and noticed it had a Zeiss optic sight... only to then be disappointed that I couldn’t rage find with it making it kind of useless lol.

I’ll look up the BF platoon when I get home. Will you be on tonight?
 
8 maps on launch.
I hated Rotterdam & Narvik from the beta because the shit lane designs force a certain gamestyle.
Devestation and Fjell 652 look no better with the same shitty design philosophy.
Twisted Steel I have concerns with the elevated bridge camping.
Aerodrome, Crete and Hamada look meh.
Only Arras and Panzerstorm look like good true Battlefield sandbox maps.

Narvik, Aerodrome, Panzerstorm or Hamada I haven't played.

Twisted steel Bridge camping and shooting down has not happened in a game I've played yet. There is too much happening on the bridge for you to focus on the ground, at worst occasionally a player will parachute to the very top but they don't last long up there.

Fjell is terrible for forcing you into lanes, whole mountain but have to follow set roads. Devastation is good though as there are tons of different ways to move around, including swimming over rivers and through multiple levels of blasted buildings.

Arras is a great map, probably the best (for me) behind Twisted Steel. Perfect mix of combat opportunities (land and air). Crete was ok but nothing great, very open and much more vehicle friendly than the others I've played.

Look if you're not that keen on it, even though I know you're a fan of the series, maybe wait until it's on sale sometime soon. There'll be more maps and all the modes will be out too

I am yet to have a problem with snipers on the bridge shooting down at me. Bridge is fun to take a tank on though.

Yeah I'll be on probably a little after 8 tonight and most nights now that I've finished RDR2

On Wednesday, November 14th, 2018, we will be releasing an update for Battlefield V for all platforms for the release of Battlefield V Deluxe Edition. While this update has no downtime, if you are in-game when the update is deployed, you will need to finish your match and then restart your client to apply the update.

The update will be available for the following platforms at the following times:

  • PC - Update will be rolling out to PC players starting on Nov 14th at 900 UTC / 1:00AM PST.
  • Xbox One - Update will be rolling out to Xbox One players starting on Nov 14th at 1000 UTC / 2:00AM PST.
  • PS4 - Update will be rolling out to PS4 players starting at 1100 UTC/ 3:00AM PST.
The update will be the following sizes:

  • PC: 1.56GB
  • XB1: 530MB
  • PS4: 350MB

Seems like the patch had some performance. Might be just imagining things but I swear I was getting more frames.


BF:V off topic but WW2 gaming on-topic, silverscope this is the World of Tanks channel I was telling you about on Discord. They have a heap of videos about tanks in general but quite a few WW2 tanks. They're all multiple parts of about 15 minutes each so quite in depth and the main presenter is a former tank commander himself. Makes it easier to distinguish what you're driving in game!
