we'll have to say a thanks and farewell to Matthew 'Herb' Elliott after he announced his retirement. This Wednesday will be his last FRC game against Tasmania.

Let's all get out and say thanks.

He's done pretty well for SA (esp. in the one day arena) and it's been good to see him in the Redbacks squad.

Congrats to Herbie. It was always a risk to recruit a guy at his age with his injuries and whilst he wasnt the first-class cricketer we'd hoped for he was quite often the only resistance during the FRC season. Hopefully we can knock over Dighton early so we can send Herb out as a dual FRC Player of the Year.

I saw that too. Dont worry we had a good laugh about it at training this evening. His bowling is reasonable and is perfectly capable of taking 3fer every so often but im at a loss to determine how he made that many.

I spoke to a bloke at work who plays up that way he said Tait would be the leading run scorer this year and by quite a margin too.

Is he the slogger type? Must of got lucky this year, wish I could say the same.

Yeah he bats a bit like Shaun, thats why I was saying he bats higher than he should. Blocks a couple early then goes haywire. He would be close to, if not THE leading runscorer for Nairne, not too sure about the comp though. I guess if you make 150 in one innings and then 3 or 4 other decent scores youre a shoe-in.

Mark Cosgrove is fit for the first time in a long time, Wise and Tait to open the attack, Dan Cullen to find some groove, Younis Kahn to add some stability and leadership to the squad, Callum Ferguson to be a great seccond dig batter again and continued improvement from Andy Delmount and Jake Brown... SA are on the improve!

I just hope Ferg does something this year, for a potential Australian Player (no thats just me dreaming he was "earmarked") to lower order hack is a big fall.

I also hope Younis Kahn Delivers, it would be a first for State Cricket (in the last 10 years) that a gamble actually pays off

Yeah sorta... He is now home by 1130... And has stopped frequenting Pizza Rev and the Red and White Caffee on O'Connell for the usual AB!

Although he was out this previous weekend!

But he is doing double RPM sessions monday and Fridays and single RPM sessions on tuesday and thursdays! he will hit 1000 runs this calendar season!
