As said, yesterday was insane. Everybody got fired up and start fo the third term it was good to see most of our guys standing between the goals and the bounce and belting out some tunes.

Up until now i think we had been a little lackluster but i did miss the NM game. Good to see the guys infront of us getting into it, and the guy with the beanie and 96 preseason guernsey really getting into it.

On the issue of half time and tending to fire up after half time - is this really a problem? I think this is really when the game opens up - really when they need us most.

thoughts?

did hear a "you crows" chant yesterday

made me wish i had gotten tickets :(

what's been better so far, bay 114 or 142?
Hard to say - largely influenced by the loss of Stazz, and the regular unavailability of Kitch & Dolfy.

As i have voiced, bit dissapointed that we moved because we laid some good foundations. But being said, i think we have made some good in-roads where we are, with the bonus of regular tickets.

The only thing i fear is a potential move next eyar with some of the disagreeances that we had yesterday, and the fear of taking some of the more outspoken CSG members that would severely cripple the CSG.

And to anyone reading, we usually have a few spare seats around the place, so feel free to drop in if you already have tix or even buy them and rock up in our bay - its all cool.

You missed out on the NM game, probably the best effort of the year. Dolfy and Carl etc putting in an appearance helped.

Was a good second half yesterday, after a fairly lackluster first half where alot of us found it hard to get into the game. Still, we bounced back, and i was impressed with alot of the efforts in the second half. Noticed my mate trying to start chants towards the end, which was a first for him, so hopefully some of us are getting better with experience.

As far as the firing up after half time, it happened, im not sure the reasons... maybe it was just being flat for melbourne, maybe it was the beer kicking in, and im sure alot of it had to do with Weslo. Dont really want to be as flat as we were in the first half too often, so we'll have to make a conscious effort to fire up early next time.

The year as a whole has been an interesting experience. I think we've made some progress, we've found some more guns who are great value joining in, and i think we've made some decent noise. Obviously we're never going to quite be the same without the big Stazz, but things are going as well.

Oh yeah, Sean, dont worry too much about the people who we've clashed with. As long as we dont cross the line, we've nothing to worry about. There are plenty in the CSG, and at the club who support what we're doing. It was great to see some of the CSG lads sticking up for us with the guard. :thumbsu:

He sure was getting fired up towards the end there, making a fair bit of racket! Its great that everyone is getting into it. I would love to start a chant, but my voice simply is not loud enough. Will always get into them once they are started though....except for zigga zagga...

Fantastic having some competeition from those Melbourne lads though...even though they did disappear after the game VERY quickly. :thumbsu:

Haven't yet wandered over this year, not that I make much of a difference at all. Had tonsilitis a few times this year, and yelling rapes my throat even more (although it was hard to resist during the showdown - lost my voice for half a week). Must admit I don't hear you guys as much as I did when I'd sit with my old man last year. Could always AT LEAST hear the van Berlo chant, along with "Come on you crows". Haven't noticed it this season, although that might have something to do with my position, as Bay 114 was kinda facing towards me. The "Ad-el-aide" clap x 3 chant is very audible from your direction, although it always has been with the cheersquad there.
Are you guys still going with the same variety of chants you were last year, or keeping it more simple to try and get more people involved?
I'll probably find myself some standing room for the Essendon game, and dust off the old banner if my throat is better by then (going in for a tonsilectomy tommorrow).

Be good to see you around there again. If you come down for the Essendon game we should have four van Berlo banners in the same area.

Yeah, to be honest, we havent really been using alot of the ones that we loved last year, like the van Berlo call. Really been trying to work the basics. Still got 'Adelaide is wonderful' going pretty well though at times.... atm its not so much bringing new chants, though we have got a few of our ones going, but getting them going in times that are usually a bit flat. Had a nice period last game where we broke out three in a row in the middle of play, which happened to be the time you could hear it on TV... Alot of the time chants at AAMI happen too much during the commerical breaks, and you miss it on TV.

So far this year it's been Ok, highlight was the Showdown of course... but I think Bay 114 was better. Maybe that's just because I prefer standing up and feel there is more noise and energy generated that way. Our next homegame is a night game though so that will help with the atmosphere.

I am bringing "Adelaide Born & Bred" out again against Essendon next Friday.

And if the Birdman takes flight again...

We're sittin' here on our butts
Then Burton got high
Ooooh-oooh-ooh
It made the drunk blokes spill their guts
'Cos Burton got high-iiiigh
La-la-la-la-la-laaaah
It sent us all bloody mental and I know why
YEAH YEAAAAAAAHHHH
Cos Burton got high
Cos Burton got high
Cos Burton got hiiiiiigh
Dah-dah-dah, dah, dah-dah-dah

Sorry Dolf. All Gun Club songs must have the word Truckin' in there.

Eg. Truckin all over the world, or to the tune of auld lang syne :Get trucked, get trucked

Can you put the words up here?

I still dont know it.

This is a slightly modified version than the one most of us are used to at Adelaide United, with bits in capitals yelled out by everyone except the leader a-la Adelaide is Wonderful, the sentence in bold is sung by everyone.

We're Adelaide born
WE'RE ADELAIDE BORN!
We're Adelaide bred
WE'RE ADELAIDE BRED!
We are crazy and we're off our head!
WE'RE OFF OUR HEAD!
Where Adelaide is
WHERE ADELAIDE IS!
That's where I'll be
THAT'S WHERE I'LL BE
Because the Crows are the team for me!

Then lay into the Adelaide ("Here we go" style) chant.

Initially I was going to be over the Essendon game in a fortnight, but it was going to be a little bit difficult so I'll be watching on TV. Despite the fact that Saturday night games would normally be horrible timing for me the planets have aligned the right way when we play Hawthorn in Round 12. I am really pumped for that one!

Already booked my flights for that one. I've also booked flights for Round 14 against Geelong on the Friday night, but I'm coming over with a mate who is a Cats fan and we'll be sitting GA elsewhere. We went down to Skilled together last year and he compromised by not sitting amongst really rowdy Cats fans, so I owe him the same courtesy. ;) Keen for a big one that night though as our flights are 6:10am the next morning and we don't plan on sleeping.

Are we ever gonna see knitting again?

No way - Get Trucked - Truck off!

Poeple will ark up at that coz it is an attack and to those being attacked will only hear the F in it.

I recon we can get away with Truck calls but they can't be a direct reference to a song using the F word. Maybe sayings like, You just got Trucked. You are gonna get Trucked. Not so obvious and still works. :thumbsu:

Never really got an answer to the banner idea....

Something like this.

Get
25
Trucked.

Also after some concern from the SANFL and other members from the weekend we kinda need to ignore people that ark up aswell.

Here are some of the requests from the Club which I think are fair enough requests. We want to stay on the good side of security and the SANFL otherwise the club is gonna be writing a please explain letter everyweek. :thumbsu:

FROM THE CLUB

It seems that the problem is limited to a few people who are not happy with the group's presence. Therefore can you pass the message around for next week and beyond.

1. If security gets involved do not, under any circumstances, give them any crap. They are just doing their (difficult) job and baiting them is hardly constructive.

2. Please do not enter into any banter with anybody that complains. In fact do not talk to them or even look at them even if they are being negative. Treat them with respect and the problem will go away.

3. Reminder - no swearing. It's not acceptable for anyone at our games.
You just got trucked is fine. Just be a little careful how you use the word Truck/ed!

4. Don't get too blind it just gives people ammunition. At least not until after the game then go your hardest.

I know most of us don't do this anyway but it is a good guide to follow. :thumbsu:

Yeah, the guys at the club are being great about the trouble, but its causing them headaches with the SANFL and the like, so we'll follow the guidelines they gave us. No way are we shutting up, but we'll do it the clean way, so we give noone the ability to undermine us.
