A few of the centre square bounces left me confused as to why they didnt call them back...

Not proud of last night, but happy with the season. Cant help but feel we HAVE to take chances when they present themselves. We got an almost perfect run coming into the finals but didn't quite finish off. Goes to show how vitally important it is to finish in the top 4.

I dunno if it matters to you guys considering this is an outsiders opinion on things, but I thought your boys played f***ing magnificently tonight. It's a true shame that you couldn't get over the line because tonight wasn't about the Adelaide of old where McLeod, Edwards, Goodwin, Ricciuto, Burton and co rake in 120 possies and kick 15 goals between them, it was a gritty effort from some great young kids that you guys have got.

Yes the game was lost in a horrible third term where everything just clicked for the Pies and didn't for your boys. But for the other three quarters it was an attacking midfield of run-and-carry footballers, nearly all of which are still finding their feet at AFL level churning out smart running plays in 29 degree heat against a side who before last week was the hot favourite for the flag.

Be very, very proud of Vince, Dangerfield, Mackay, Otten, Symes and Knights. These aren't big names back east, but they back themselves in every single time they have the ball, running hard and barrelling into every contest against bigger bodies. And I tell you what people who write off the Crows in the next few years, do so at their own peril. Thompson and Porplyzia are becoming - if not already are - superstars as well and those big guys in Tippett, Maric and Hentschel tried their guts out tonight.

You guys have had a great season, don't be too hard on your boys for tonight, it was a marvellous effort.

Best of luck for next year.
Cheers, SS :thumbsu:

EDIT: Oh, and if you need something to cheer you up, watch this...

I fully agree with & appreciate your thoughts SouthSwans, it has been a fantastic year for the developement of our club. It is a pleasure to be part of the AFC "19th man". We have alot to look forward to in the coming years, we will be a force based on our performance this year. Built on middle range draft picks, hard work & determination.
Best of luck with your clubs rebuilding in 2010. Respect the Swans

I pissed myself when Otten took that mark in the last few seconds, I thought what a game saving mark..............?????? oh dear Im still hurting.

:thumbsu:Flash back to Leo Barry in that GF - what a finish that should have been. Truck did what he needed to do, split second decisions are easily reviewed after the fact. I saw a number of those let go throughout the night, only for that to happen. If only they would be fair to everyone throughout the game.
having said this, poor kicking did cost the game, we needed to be up by 40+ at half time to be totally in control.

We have made massive gains this year & Craigy is on the right track, as for his finals record - early years saw a lack of structure but i believe all that pain is going to deliver the ultimate prize. Alot of the Melbourne clubs would give everything to be in our position right now. We have a great mix of youth & talent along with experience to be a force - "never look back, your eyes are in the front of your head for a reason" :)

I felt very gutted last night :(

I thought it really summed up our season that a free kick would decide the fate of our season.

However it was a very good year for us no doubt, and we will build upon the progress we have made this year. Hopefully some of the new players who will need to step up next year steps up, i hoping to see alot more of walker and Davis.

Bad luck Craig and co again, our time is coming. It seems that every finals, we always have a big injury, knights out really hurt us in the heat.

Thanks mate, still hurts :(
Really?

by the time I was going down the stairs I was happy and taking it as a moral victory knowing if it wasnt for that bad decision at the end, we would of won :)

EDIT: just saw a photo of the incedent instead of following the pack, and now know it was a good decision

BUT in the same photo there is an arm square in the back of Otten. Why no free there?

As heartbreaking as the loss was, seeing the players reactions after the final siren was worse. They put everything into that last quarter and to have it taken away by that bloody free kick (Granted, it was there but many others went uncalled before that)

I also think this whole crappy feeling is being intensified simply because it was against Collingwood... (bloody joffa <_<) They really are the worst supporters. The amount of stupid comments I got on the way back from the G was ridiculous. Come on the Cats!!! Smash 'Em!!!!
