I don’t know that Pie is a particularly attractive recruit if everyone expected him to die early (especially to the head vamp). Personally, id be more inclined to have looked at an option less likely to attract other actions.

So did I but since it was about pie , his recruitment is independent of his statement and would be due to the vamps recruiting nothing from nowhere

Also, as I mentioned earlier (and I tagged you in the post) you recruited pie as head vamp recently so he’s clearly an attractive recruit to you

All I’m saying as far as that goes is there’s always stuff that isn’t in the OP and the OP isn’t always as it appears. Learnt that the hard way in dero’s game. But even in this game, the BE post about how vamps can be astrally recruited highlights it too.

The using all info we can point still stands.

I get what you mean but I feel where the rules are explicit we should take them as such. In this case a Drifting Soul is defined as anyone who was not given a role at the beginning of the game and an Astral Recruit can only successfully target Drifting Souls. That's about as clear as it gets imo.

Village
Each night can conduct an "astral" recruit action (ie occurs outside normal game mechanics - cannot be blocked, seered, swapped, etc) that is only successful when targeting a Drifting Soul. Recruits will be added to the factions' PM. If multiple groups attempt to sign the same target, it will be unsuccessful for all. Recruited Drifting Soul will seer/die as their recruited faction.

Drifting Soul
Anyone not given a role at the start of the game is a Drifting Soul.

Also since BEaston has already given us clarity regarding the vamps I'm sure he'd do the same thing again if there was a major misunderstanding of how the astral recruiting mechanic works.

I’ll no doubt go back to believing the OP word for word but the last game I played is all too fresh…

It’s a pity that there was apparently no successful town astral recruit last game so we can’t know for sure.

One flog from that game that I tagged chalked it down to luck, repeatedly. The other is laying low.

BFew for hiding when there might be a useful insight that would help the village . I also see him as the type who would attempt to kill Pie N1 after he made it deep a couple of games ago

If we're going to lynch someone who claimed drifting soul or whatever it is this game last night, why the newbie? His vanillager posting last night was convincing so at best he's an evil recruit and at worst a flog recruit.

Yup - he was very strident as a White Pawn in the last game as well. He's a very cluey player already (only his third game, i believe), but I'd definitely be looking at Pie or dogs before him for sure. That being said, I wonder if Pie wouldn't have been recruited because they either a) thought he would be dead, or b) actually tried killing him.

And it seems Nothing was also in the faction that killed THB off in the opening night of Chip’s game. THB is certainly the type who would go for a revenge kill.

I noticed BFew and MarcMaverick played last game and survived until the end as flogs in a town win whilst por_please_ya was the last evil killed as an Alpha. All 3 of you are playing. So could all of you please share insights into last game ie the strategies employed?

Just starting to catch up on all that's gone down (or up, round in circles) here today.

All I remember off the top of my head was flogs surviving to the end and Marc being on my team, but hadn't yet associated that game version with this one, or who else was a flog in that game.

My recovering from kitty hospital last week cat, did a little pee on my bed covers between my legs early this morning.

Would have been worse if I had not seen his interesting positioning, and got him off before he could do too much damage.

I think his whole sitting on me just before then, was him asking to be taken outside (in the cold/dark) to do his thing.
He's excused because of what he was in hospital for.
