I think the only way to beat the dogs is to get some hardness back. We got our pants pulled down on sunday in the contested footy, and clearances. We look so dangerous when we are relentless and the focus is on pressuring the ball carrier. The Doggies rate pretty highly in these areas and we might just be embarrassed if we dont go in and get the bloody thing. I think the dogs have us covered in most aspects, so if we are any chance, we need to make it a fight and show some HEART!

Yep and I think we will come out firing. We tend to not show teams like Carlton enough respect, but there is no chance that we will underestimate the dogs. Coming off a loss I expect us to try and prove something but will we have enough forward power with cloke out to get us over the line?

I think we need to play a very defensive game and try to lock it down. We cant give them room.

They are flying, let's hope they are complacent this week.

I'm hoping that with Cloke out they think we are going to be a walk in the park, then maybe we can catch them by surprise.

Mitch Hahn is their barometer.

His hardness and strength is what gives them that added edge. Of course they have players like Aker and Murphy for example who are flying but he is the main man. If we can shut him down we can potentially get up in the contested ball area.

Harry O is the match-up for him.

It will be a walk in the park for the dogs now. No Cloke or Rocca, who the f**k is going to kick our goals or at least give a contest in the air?

The dogs defence is one of the best in the league. We will need to hope that 10 goals will produce a winning score for us. Can't see us kicking more than that.

May as well try Dawes or McCaffer. Nothing to lose. This season is turning into one from hell. A week is a long time in footy.

Goodtime to get away for the weekend l think.

Yep Harry is a good player, regardless of what other people say. He just can't play on Fev, I'm predicting a big game from him this week...as well as the other 21 players.

It also doesn't help that the dogs have scored over 100 points in every match this year. Not looking forward to Sunday

Harry will play on Murphy. It's a good matchup.

I see it the other way. Let's face it, everyone expects us to drop the game.

So go along, watch your favourite couple of players and see how they're tracking during the game rather than follow the action. A good chance to take stock, have a coupla frothies and enjoy being at the footy rather than having another mild heart attack :)

I'll be watching Ben Reid a little closer to see how he's handling the attention, and Heath Shaw to see how he's handling the tag.

if we play like we did against carlton we will lose by 10 goals.. having said that i think we'll come like we did against geelong...

for the first time this year i dont think we will win....but i hope im wrong again(i tipped us to beat carlton by 10-15goals)..

Absolutely.

7 wins from 12, 6th on the ladder, beat the reigning premiers by 86 points.... recently won 4 on the trot, how can it possibly get any worse????

I do agree that it might be worthwhile giving Dawes or Macaffer a run this week.

lol Murphy will kill him
Well, I guess that is your opinion. In my opinion, Harry is much better suited to the half back line and medium sized opponents. He was excellent before playing on Fev, for which he is unsuited.

yeah its good to be positive well done :thumbsu:

To be honest, I have very little hope for our chances, but maybe Malthouse will be able to pull a rabbit out of his hat. If we are going to win, we're going to need contributions from every single player.

Very perceptive observation, the tractor is the man he, Lake and Huddo.

Wasn't nearly as much in hte CArlton game as the scores suggest. Not super comfident vs Dogs but definitely it's anyone's game at present.

If pendles and Leon are fit that will make a huge difference, and maybe Rocca will be back also. Probably did tire in the last q so have to wait and see how fresh they come up vs dogs. Maybe bring in a fresh runner like a Lonie.
Presti would make a big diff (maybe not so much vs dogs) - I wonder how far away he is?
I'd like to see Heath being rotated through the midfield also, maybe give him a midfield tagging role for example. I mean
Rhyce was tagging Judd and then Murphy and we needed another good tagger. Why not both Shaws as taggers, would set up an interesting brotherly rivalry.
