If you were GWS and you had to choose someone to target first out of the players that have been linked with GWS very strongly(Well strong enough in the media ;)), who would you choose?

Well I think it comes down to who can you build around.

Dale Thomas
Tom Scully
Callan Ward
Rhys Palmer
Taylor Walker
Alipate Carlile
Daniel Rich
Danyle Pearce

Tom Scully for ability and to build a side around.

Dale Thomas for marketing and a third or fourth string midfielder.

First off I would change the colors, logo and nick name. But that's another story altogether.

Dale Thomas would be a main priority.

Looked pretty good as a third or fourth string mid against Carlton on the weekend :thumbsu:

I think the colours are good.
Orange isn't used by any other club. The guernsey and merchandise all look good.
Giants is not bad either. People just aren't used to it.
Bombers, Blues, Magpies etc would receive similar receptions if they were new.

But anyway this is about players.

I don't get the Scully love (from a GWS perspective). He's a gun and he's 20 but GWS will have an immense amount of young midfield talent in a few years. I realise experience is important but he's only 20, why should they spend that much on him when they could invest in some older, harder bodies who are less talented but can shield the youth a bit better.

A midfield of Dylan Shiel, Adam Treloar, Stephen Coniglio, Chad Wingard and players like Mitch Grigg/Hoskin-Elliott/Nelson etc + Lachie Whitfield/Jaeger O'Meara (in 2012) will be immense. I understand the risk involved in drafting/developing these days but honestly every playerr I named (Barring Grigg, HE and Nelson probably) has the capacity to be better than Scully.

My priority would have been to focus on a gun young KPP or two (admittedly they reportedly had interest in guys like Hurley, Davis and Naitanui so it's hard to fault them there) and then sprinkle the side with experience in other areas.
