When Grimes went down last week I thought there was no way we could hold Franklin, Roughead and Hale. Kid was exceptional.

Nearly kicking two goals from he backline is amazing. He is the 200cm defender everyone has been crying out for. Just need his body to hold up.

Seriously has been poor all year and even today did some horrible things for a skipper. Pretty sure he was manning Bruest who kicked 3.

Anyway this thread is about Griff who looked very good. Reckon he is one of those players you just play at the top level because he is good enough to adapt quickly.

Was recruited as CHF, and after all the main focus is to get the pill from the center bounce trough the big white posts. He looks as though he could be one serious player and he would be a waste defending. Astbury is my pick to get the CHB gig.

Really like how the club chose to ease him back into AFL footy in a 10 goal win, allowing them to manage his game time by benching him for the second half of the last quarter.

Just watching the replay now and what has struck me is how he managed to snare the ball in impossible situations. I found myself wondering how the hell he came out of the contests with the pill????

Must confess I've never taken much notice of him in his previous stints at the top level but now have high hopes.

Astbury is coming off a long lay off and will be working his way through the Burgers as a CHB. We probably wont see him even in contention for another 4-5 weeks minimum.
