Injury Ben Johnson

I hope the Johnno haters regret their harsh words, but unfortunately they are going to see their wishes fulfilled. The crap that was spewed forth regarding Johnson's skills and courage will now come to an end, at the expense of his season. Johnson played well today when his team mates complacently figured they only had to be there to win. We have lost a good player.

Week in, week out... posters on this site call for him to be dropped. Even last week people on this site were calling for him to be dropped!!! And the fact i thought this was sheep like behavior earned me a Yellow card! (Welcome to the sheep - I think was the comment I made to someone who couldn't for the life of him work out why people wanted him out of the team)...

Jono will be sorely missed, not that alot of people on this site actually think he deserves any respect:rolleyes:

Hope he's only out for a short amount of time - his run out of deep defence and across half back is something else.

Fingers crossed Jono... get back soon - and piss the Jono haters off!

John Ralph from HUN just said on TEN that he has dodged a bullet and it is only a dislocated kneecap.
It is the best scenario possible.
Could miss only 4 weeks.

Dids said (Before the bounce) that Jono heard a pop... fingers crossed the scans go well tomorrow...

He's no where near in the clear yet.

I love the way these media personalities are desperate to have their name heard and confirm the injury as if they're the doctor themselves! Ouite pathetic really:rolleyes:

“He seems to have hit the ground,” Malthouse said after the game.

“I know there’s a massive abrasion on the side of his knee that has caused some discomfort, [but] we’re quite hopeful that he’ll be all right.”

Some Good News

Just heard over the radio during the Hawks Cats coverage that Benny J hasnt broken or tore anything in his leg, that its just a "kneecap displacement" and he'll be out for around 2-4 according to SEN

Great news because i think he was in good touch (which is saying a lot coming from me because ive always been very critical of him)

Hope he gets up soon :thumbsu:

Good to hear that but I think he would Struggle to get back in the Side, Think he would need to go Through the VFL to get back in

COLLINGWOOD defender Ben Johnson could be back within two weeks after scans have revealed he has escaped ligament damage in his knee.
...
But scans discovered that his kneecap had been displaced and the 29-year-old could return in two to four weeks.

Thank christ, I just traded medhurst to pick up johnson in my homebrew fantasy league. Was looking like the worst trade in history.

Re: Some Good News

Great stuff. Awful timing for BJ given he was finally playing some good footy.

You obviously missed last week, and his game pre injury. Sure he may need to come back through the VFL, but make no mistake, he's in the best 18.

Re: Some Good News

Excellent news...it didn't look good for a while there ....but we need every one up and firing to do what's needed to get the team up for a premiership assault, see the grand finalists last year you really need to have a good run with injuries eg: Pendles goind down in the finals, it just kills you

That's awesome news.. to think, we thought he might be out for the rest of the season and has escaped to miss only 2-4 weeks.. :thumbsu:
hopefully will be back ANZAC day.

Re: Some Good News

I am glad its only 2-4 weeks because we benifit from his run and carry and he was killing melbourne before he got injured. Id rather Ben Johnson over Toovey any day becuase Jono has a better footy brain and is more experiance while toovey can have good games but he is a dumb player.
