But still makes the same 1 on 1 mistakes and kicks the ball about the same. He is a worry

I'll give you his possessions aren't that "clean", but they are more effective then they look.

But to say he makes mistakes one on one is ludicrous, stupendous, just plain crazy.

On Saturday, he was the only defender we had who consistently beat or at least was with his opponent, he basically made Shaw, Maxwell and O'Brien look like second class one on one defenders, which they were against the Dees.

As long as Tooves is fit, he will play in this side, we need him, we need his toughness, his one on one ability and his ability to shut a player down.

Toovey and Ben Johnson are so bloody crucial to our team, because at times we have so many "front runners" we need the likes of Tooves, O'Bree, BJ and Presti as pure stoppers, just to balance the side out.

I won't take criticism of Toovey's one on one ability, I just won't, he is near Presti in that category, and any coach, player or staff member at Collingwood would tell you the same.

Oh, and great news on BJ, back for ANZAC day maybe, I'd love to see that, we need him to stop some of those pacy Essendon hacks.

.

How was his game against Robert Murphy, enjoy watching him stand 3m off him? How do you think Goldsack would go. Sack is easily a better choice than Tooves.

Johnson escapes ligament damage

Great news indeed, 2 - 4 weeks isn't as bad as first thought by a lot of us at the ground. I know he has a lot of haters but I think he is a first-22 player for sure and is important to our structure.

Who will come in for him in the meantime do you think? Obvious choice is Buckley I guess...

Re: Johnson escapes ligament damage

Yeah it didn't look good, but stoked with this news. If he did the ACL I reckon we may never have seen him again which would be a shame.
