I know that this article was posted in the Hurley thread, but I can't help thinking about the last quote from it:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/144713/default.aspx

"If you put me with a team full-time we will not only win the goalkicking stats by the length of the straight, we will improve all field kicking immensely as well."

Since he's been able to improve the goal-kicking of the players he has worked with, isn't it worthwhile considering employing him full time? I mean, even if it meant winning only an extra two or three games per year (like the Melbourne and Sydney games), surely he'd be worth it.

The field kicking thing is interesting, too. Put him together with Colyer and get the guy sorted out.

Haha, I just read Perkins' reaction to the article on his Twitter: https://twitter.com/Blazing_Ben

inb4 Brian Taylor and Luke Darcy mention him 1000 times in one night whenever they commentate one of our future games.

Ahmed Saad lived in a garage, don't ya know?

And Kyle Hardingham is from Kojonup, he has a dad named Toot, who's a bus builder. And James Magner, he built East Link.

Die BT, die.

I heard rumours there is a footy factory somewhere around Geelong, and another somewhere around Calder.

Can anyone confirm this for me? And that players, generally of the smaller variety, like selling "foot candy" and "hand candy".... must admit I haven't tried either but they doesn't sound too appetising no matter who sells them.

Back on topic, I don't have a Twitter account so what did Perkins say? If there is a chance of this working I'd like the Dons to hear him out in an interview and, provided he presents well, put him on a 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend it based on performance.

Lol cocky prick which is probably why no one has employed him fulltime. Seems he gets results though I like the idea of getting him to work with colyer as an experiment, but if he stuffs him could end the young mans career.
If anyone could manage to make Colyer's kicking worse... I'm lost for words, it'd be one hell of an achievement

Perkins also said something along the lines of "football clubs are about money, more important to be a weights coach than a skills coach"!

He might have been knocked back for a more permanent role?

What happened to that rumour a while back the Carey was going to work with our forward line?

From Twitter:

Buddy Franklin@Buddy_Franklin
@Blazing_Ben you have moved on to the dons well done Benny boy well deserved

Benjamin Perkins@Blazing_Ben
@Buddy_Franklin Nothing is set in stone in this business... You know I love the Hawks lads. They, you, are terrific men...like U to go well

Fairly interesting exchange. Should we read much into it? Could it be that they have discussed the possibility of Perkins coming to the club, or perhaps even reached a verbal agreement?

Apparently this was from four hours ago.

His twitter bio shows Hurley's name first ahead of a raft of other star afl players and some other names I haven't heard, woo!
