This is just ridiculous now... Can we relegate ourselves to the VFL for the rest of the year? 29 players to choose from for the senior squad. How is Yze or the MC meant to have any chance at selection integrity with so few players available?
Yet it’s his fault. It would be nice to have a full list to pick from; unfortunately, it seems ages away.

I’m even going to look at the Smillie thing as good news now (so I don’t go mad). We had 15 injured and no one conclusively out for the year which is the worst possible situation when you theoretically have pick 1 msd.

So at least now we can take one pick at least

Yeah that's a very small silver lining... maybe we need 4 spots just so we don't run out of players...

Contact injuries notwithstanding, here are some of the questions I have for the strength and conditioning team…

Why was Sam Lalor played against Essendon last year when he was quite obviously sore?

How the hell do the medical staff not know Tom Sims has a navicular injury until he’s on the sidelines with an unrelated arm injury? And the same for Mansell.

Why were both Judson Clarke and Josh Gibcus put back on the field after complaining of a sore knee when they have had a history of knee injuries?

Why has Tom Sims not put on any size since October when he’s been out of action?

How can Smillie continually reinjure his quad? They obviously have no idea what is wrong and haven’t got external expert opinions to consider.

What have they been doing to ensure Hotton will come back 100%? They admitted the injury was unusual so what is the plan from what they have learnt?

Why didn’t Sam Cumming get shoulder surgery when he arrived at the club? They admitted that they were bewildered his junior club didn’t put him in for surgery yet refused to do it themselves

Bet you they don’t even take anyone

The Cumming comments by the club before the start of the season didn’t sit well with me

Serpell
“Given he is a young player, our decision-making process will of course factor in the best thing for his entire career, not just this year.”

Surely the best thing for his “entire career “ was to go in for immediate surgery on an injury that was never going to be fixed with rest or strengthening.

Re Sims, I’m not sure you want him putting on too much size with that type of injury. I mean he’s got to come back when the foot is healed and start running . Not sure the extra size would be beneficial straight up.

Can we get Peter Burge back to the club for the love of god!

To be fair, Serpell was hired for his expertise in treating and rehabbing ACL's. Has done a pretty good job with the guys who did them in 2024 (Juddy aside.)

Some size would be good.
He hasn’t put on an ounce since October.

I’d rather he develop a man’s body to deal with the physical pressure of a position like ruck than go out there as a twig like he was last year to protect his foot. But that’s just me.
