More to this than just "bad luck". The entire medical department needs an urgent review. Seriously concerned with the welfare of our younger players - maybe we need a specialized person who has experience with younger / developing players ? Other than that - is it the surface we are training on ?

The disaster can be tracked to here by the way - Constant training at full speed won't lead to overload apparently. Also changing how players naturally run. Sack this idiot right now.

Tigers strive for speed under new fitness boss

Running has been the cornerstone of Richmond’s pre-season program under the Club’s new High Performance Manager Ben Serpell.

Legitimately only 4 fit players left after team selection (not including Taranto).

Trainor, Ryan, NRT and Fawcett.

Of the 43 players on our list, only 3 have yet to play an AFL game for our team.

2 of them are injured. 1 is in his first year. Smillie, Peucker and NRT.

"So, that's my philosophy. Let's flip that a little bit, teach people how to run. So, because it's such a big part of the game, we're going to spend a lot of time on running and go from there.

"But at the end of the day what we're trying to do is change motor patterns and make sure they're moving effectively

Could be the ground, could be horrendous bad luck but, its be honest, its most likely our training loads and fitness team. Time for fingers to be pointed at the right people. This is beyond a joke now. I only pray Lalor can get back to the level he's been playing at and build from there. Year's done for him one way or another.

My goodness.

As far as Serpell is concerned I believe that next year is when we will really start to see the full benefit of him re-training the players as the majority of the group would have had 3 preseasons under his guidance and the fitness will improve once again.

Serpell had an excellent injury record at Geelong but at Richmond it’s really bad. Time to accept that Caro was probably right and the surface isn’t up to the level.

Lalor’s Achilles seems like the type of injury you get on an unstable surface.
he was the water boy at geelong, he has no clue what he is doing in the top job

Geelong's job was vacant at the same time as ours and they brought in someone else instead of promoting Serpell.

I had a chat to him last year and he was full of piss-weak excuses for our injuries. Reckon's it wasn't that bad. Delusional

He was in charge of that debacle

I was wondering why our players looked so lean across the board
