hi guys i have been a member since 1985 my mate at work here in bendigo has told me today his nephew jake hall(bendigo pioneers) has been contacted by our mighty blues saying they are very keen to draft him they have told him they will contact him thursday to let him know, his family is very excited. it would be great to see the bendigo boys back at carlton.:)

Wouldn't mind picking him up late in the draft. Looks a nice player. Only seen him a couple of times, but from memory I think he reminded me of Goldsack. Nice pace and would be handy acroos half back.

I hope i'm thinking of the right guy.

I'd be happy for that to happen late. Snuck into my top 60.

hope to let you know more maybe friday but iam going away friday lunchtime.his uncle says his very quick kicks very well and long ,loves to run would prefer to play on a wing but played back for bendigo due for a needs sake.vertical jump he said was tops at draft camp just as good as natanui also won the schools high jump without even traning for it.proud uncle barracks for the hawks but has stated he will buy a membership with the blues if young jake gets the nod. lets hope so the mail is his a top kid who lives and breaths footy and the bendigo tradition is revived once again.

If he reminds people of Goldsack, I hope to god we stay well clear...

More wingman and defensive mid at the next level I think. Great tank, did a 15.2 in the shuttle at screening. Disciplined player who can take a real hanger. Could be the run with player we've been looking for if he does land our way.

The few games I saw of Jake he was pretty much thrown around wherever he was needed in a fairly average side. Seemed to approach any task without much fuss. He has some mongrel about him too and has AFL athleticism and a big engine, and sounds like he has a good work ethic...not much else you could ask of a late pick...if true.

A lot can happen on draft day though

I would have said more Ryan Jackson (but plays a bit taller, quicker and more versatile) as opposed to Goldsack.

I know he is only a young fella, and full grown men were able to push him around a bit, but didn't he have 8 kicked on him in the Bendigo Football League grand final??? From what i saw he looked a little lost out there.

Another year and an AFL preseason though and he could turn out to be something decent.

Didn't see the game. What position was he playing? Taller opponents?...reason I ask is I'm pretty sure he has been asked to play above his weight/height for Pioneers .

Well we will soon see if it is indeed true, cant wait till saturday when its all over and we can then all start talking PSD :D

LOL, like I said C[hris Pelchen of the carlton board]2ya door, he is a wingman, run-with player who has been asked to play taller at times ;)

The elite kids generally have something special even when thrown in the deep end Gilly - maybe they asked him to play key back against a Bendigo star forward.

Brings back great memories however - can remember throwing a 16yo kid into a DVFL(now Northern) prelim final (a gamble after a beating in 2nd semi), a kid who had never played a game higher than U/17, and not only did he get 8 possies in the 1stQ but he also helped win the premiership in his second game. He played in more premierships but only ever played one game for Collingwood - not the only talent they squandered mind you

The fullforward had already kicked 6-7 before Hally was thrown back on him late in the last quarter as a last resort which should never have happened to the young fellow.
Unfortunately the goal Hally did concede was the one to win game with about 30 secs to go.

Hally has played some good footy for Golden Square in the Bendigo league for the past two seasons when the pioneers have had a bye.
Id be more than happy for the blues to pick him up, very athletic, trains hard and has a good head on his shoulders, can play tall or small a potential 200 gamer utility.

Good to get the facts from someone in the Golden Square:thumbsu:

i thoght he was on him a little longer than that. He was down back most of the day. Pretty sure he started on him.

The forward was Matt Gretrix if memory serves me correct. Smart player who has quite a large backside and very hard to shift. Jake would have been giving away plenty of size and it must have been a move of desperation somewhat. Gretrix has got a hold of plenty of guys and if Hall spent time on him it shows what kind of regard he's held in by the coach.

Holdstock started on him as per previous battles then O'toole was tried on him and after having 6 kicked on both of them Hall was put on him late in the last, previous to that Hall spent most of the game onball, wing and across half back.
