Agreed. Obviously the Eastern Bloc clubs will, most likely, happily accept a local rival that gives them all another well attended home game.
However, their acceptance to the Ballarat FNL won't be determined simply by the local rivals. Ballarat based clubs will need to be convinced that letting Gisborne in won't be detrimental to their own standing within the competition. Self interest is always a component of club decision making and not all see the value currently. Two clubs already quoted in The Courier as needing to hear a solid business case to get their vote.

With Clubs it’s all about self interest. This is the root of all the problems, specifically with juniors. It’s very easy to see where it has all gone wrong if you sit back and look and analyse it all.

The words are greed, elite and Auskick. If you go to the US (unlikely now) there is virtually zero senior community sport. It’s all kids and college and professional. We are headed down a similar track sadly. The push has become all about juniors wish pushes rural kids into bigger regional hubs from a young age, all the while it slowly kills the little rural town sides.

No they aren’t. There would not be a club that is happy or thinks the current state and way this is all heading is good. The league haemorrhaging talent is not good, the league being reduced to 5-7 teams is not good.

I think this forum is becoming a waste of time all it is is the same bunch of people telling everyone how shit everything is and waffling bullshit about how this is what clubs want.

2027 has to be a massive make or break year for the future of Bendigo footy. Give Moama whatever they need to get into Bendigo, MGYCW will come in and need to be given plenty of help but they should be able to do it. With Gisborne gone we can drop the the thoughts of going after Sunbury or Rupo or that far south it would be same problems as Gisborne have pointed out.

Yes currently the state of Bendigo footy is very unattractive so clubs won’t want to come right now. But come up with a plan a proper roadmap with some very clear objectives to show clubs there’s still a pulse.

Things clearly need to change and like I said I think 2027 will be a key year in Bendigo footy

Rubbish.

If anyone is upset they can challenge the board, you don't need a majority to challenge.

The boards got rocks in their head but everyone else is just as much to blame for letting it run into the ground.

Easier to throw stones then step up though.

I started reading and posting here after hearing about Forest St End’s and Crazy’s posts.

If you go back and read them they have basically had inside info on just about everything that has happened for the past three years at league level and they said there was a rally against the board over summer but it was strong armed by the board with the support of loyal clubs.

I heard a whisper who Crazy might be on the weekend and it’s not surprising he is better connected than any of us. Forest if you read this please come back and tell us what is going on as well.

Afraid you’ll be standing by the letterbox for a long time if you are waiting for any mail from me, zero connections behind the scenes.

The talk down here was Forest was a few people working together but ultimately shut down when their identities became too widely known and the league got stroppy.

Wasn't it put forward in 2019 to play finals outside the qeo? That's a pretty easy solution. Happens in every other league in the state, yet no action and they wonder why they are here.

why wasn't 2 finals played at maryborough last year, to help a struggling club?

There's a consensus Bendigo based, things will be okay, Gisborne and flat will seek a move, I think maine will wait after their appointment of the senior coach. Then you have the handling of broadford coming in, how does that work?
