a interesting exercise to see what area's we need to look at bolstering

pick your best 22
pick your second 22 underneath
and compare the two and see how many of the second 22 are a real change to knock out a first 22 player.

The only major change to the best 22 I would make is Bryan for Deluca.

Highlights a distinct lack of depth. Other than the really young blokes ie, Russell, Hartlett, Raso, Blackwell & O'hailpin there isn't a lot to get excited about in the 2nd 22.

1B: McGrath, Livingston, Teague
2B: Russell, Norman, Wiggins

1HB: Camporeale, Whitnall, Thornton
2HB: Sporn, S O’hailpin, Hartlett

1C: Scotland, Koutoufides, Simpson
2C: Clarke, Johnson, Blackwell

1HF: Fisher, Waite, Morrell
2HF: Houlihan, Deluca, Chambers

1F: Lappin, Fevola, Stevens
2F: Longmuir, Raso, Becker

R: French, Bentick, Carrazzo
R: Prendergast, Bowyer, Bannister

1Int: Bryan, Walker, Davies, Betts
2Int: A O’hailpin, Batson, Smith, Pleming

That's pretty much the 1st side I wish they would select and hope they keep together next year...wouldn't mind seeing Norman replacing Teague.
Any of the NON- kids (including O'Hailpin) in the 2nd side are not much chop and wouldn;t really be missed...but you'd want something for Houlihan.

Best 22.we have one ?

Anyway...here is my two cents worth.

b teague livingston carazzo (what is up with Teague in 2005 ? great last season, woeful this one, why is that ? )
b pleming norman bowyer (Bowyer is a good hard at it player...pity he is too slow)

hb mcgrath thornton camporeale (have a feeling McGrath keeps Betts in line off field, so we need him around)
hb bannister hartlett sporn (Hartlett seems OK, other 2, nope)

c simpson kouta walker (Simpson has promise, Kouta way past his prime, Walker..has potential, but his kicking and decision making have me woried, even at this stage of his career)
c prendergast johnson clarke (all VFL grade)

hf waite whitnall lappin (Waite looks good, BIG wraps from R.Walls)
hf morell s o'halpin davies (Morell..too good for VFL, not quite AFL), hope O'Hailpin lives up to the hype in 2006. Davies =de-list.

f betts fevola fisher (Betts will get better, Fev..well he is Fev...VERY hard to predict what he will do, Fisher looks good)
f chambers raso longmuir (Raso maybe, de-list other two)

r french stevens scotland (like French, but not as the sole ruckman, he is better as a second ruck, Stevens looking OK, Scotland likewise)
r bryan blackwell wiggins (Bryan started well, off the boli now, Blackwell seems promising, Wiggins good honest type, not flashy but good enough)

int deluca houlihan bentick russell (Deluca needs to improve, and will. Houlihan please go !!, Russell...jury is out)
int a o'halpin batson smith becker (All have promise)
