Chris Cheney, Garret, Phil from Grinspoon even = all very good frontmen.

Oh, and Jay from Frenzal Rhomb deserves a mention.
ill pay Jay but Phil is a useless moron.

if you counted adopted Aussies (aka Kiwis), Jonny Toogood from Shihad would maul them all.

Pinky, formely of MGF is right up there

but its pretty slim pickings for current bands

No contest - Gerry Humphreys of 'The Loved Ones'. Oops, showing my age. Saw him sing with his band when they were a jazz outfit called 'The Red Onions'. Twelve months later, they'd turned into one of the great rock and roll/ blues bands ever. I particularly liked the way he would parody Mick Jagger by imitating his lascivious hip movements and effeminate hand gestures.

Others from when I was alive would include Ross Wilson of 'Daddy Cool' and Mike Rudd of 'Spectrum'. One shouldn't forget the lead singer of the best band I've seen in Australia, Matt Taylor of 'Chain'.

Top 10 in some sort of rough order of preference (and knowing full well that I've forgotten somebody).

1. Rob Younger (Radio Birdman, New Christs)
2. Jeremy Oxley (Sunnyboys)
3. Ron Peno (Died Pretty)
4. Mick Dalton (Trilobites)
5. Damien Lovelock (Celibate Rifles)
6. Christopher Marshall (Harem Scarem)
7. Tex Perkins (Beasts of Bourbon, Cruel Sea ...)
8. Peter Garrett (Oils)
9. Ron Hitler-Barassi (TISM)
=10 Paul Stewart (Painters & Dockers)/Tim Rogers (You Am I)/Quincy Maclean (Blue Ruin)/Tim Hemmensley (Powdermonkeys)/Ox (Poppin Mommas)

A few ex Kiwi's there but we'll claim 'em.

Not a frontman, but bassist Charlie Tumahai's vocals on "Golden Miles" is spine tingling.
