Maybe the Rocca post I did inspired them LOL! Maybe it was because Houla was out of the side!!!

But that was the best defensive game for a long, long time and we kept the Scum under 100 point AND, we had no Houla to add to junk stats, there' TWO DOMINANT STATS to savor, a win and <100 point. Hi fives to the kids back there who tried their guts out, Pffiefer, Grigg, Jamison and dare I say it Bannister!@#! WTF!@#! T-Bird was OK, and Waite, while good, could have been alot better, he has to tighen up his disposal, and get rid of those silly stab kicks from defense. Maybe he should learn from Val Perovic or Jon Dorotich's game, instead of David Teagues...

Of course the natural anti-depressant of the Blues winning has kicked in!

True.

I actually didnt think our midfield was that good. Probably broke even. Our defence won us this game. Waite, Jamo, Thornton and Bower were all fantastic as was Scotland (about time) rebounding off a HBF.

Lets also remember that Waite hamered Rocca although I have no idea why he is taking the kickouts.

This coming from the bloke who said "Stuff Carlton" last week...

Jamison was very very good. He plays a little like Waite. Before the game I assumed that Rocca, Cloke and Didak would murder us, but our guys played them close and ran off and made them all work the hardest they have had to all year. Great performance.

There's only thing worse than bagging players and then saying 'stuff Carlton', and that's turning back around when we win and jumping back on board.

Mate, you're not a true Carlton supporter.

Good win and all but are you really going to let this little soft ____ run around praising carlton after he quit last week?

If he was a collingwood supporter doing this shit id tear shreds off him.

But in truth you deserved thw in w edidnt go hard enough sadly

Of course you are a Collingscum supporter. That is behavior expected from you lot. It was your hero and 'power forward' Antony Rocca's 'bullying' comment that 'inspired' me to rescind my resignation. I suggest you have a 'think tank' metting with the Pink Pies over some of Antony's fine pizzas. Then you can understand what it means to 'want Blues to suffer' really feels like!!:thumbsu:

Oh we feel your pain Optimax... I think the majority of us just want to enjoy the win.

We pushed numbers back and filled holes and won amazing.
Coaches finally learning. We should have won that Essendon game easily if we did the same. Lets keep it up and their will be more wins to come. Great day for the club, smiles all round.

Seriously mate u are a disgrace to our fine club ! your bagging a collingwood supporter after he just lamented the fact we won ! + he has been graceful in defeat poor form ... especially after you "resigned" last week ... you should just barrack for Geelong

Yeah, it must be said, Carlton have given us supporters hope for coming seasons. i believe that the reason that Carlton's defense was so well maintained is in no small part due to paul bowers input. he impressed me, and i reckon it was because of him that the other defenders stepped up.

keep on truckin' blues! continue to make us proud! :)

Whilst I do not believe that the poster that started this thread is a genuine Carlton supporter, he is correct on this issue.

Our back 6 looked exceptional today and really excelled in their respective roles.

Jamison, Grigg, Waite, Thornton, Bower and Scotland were magnificent, Bannister and Pfeiffer played very good support roles too.

Today was EASILY the best game of Bower, Grigg and Jamison in their respective careers. It shows that our backline is getting there, and really starting to work together. Sure, it's not there yet, and they'll still get beaten, but it's starting to work and the wheels are starting to turn.

One thing I hope that comes from this match is with regards to Ratts. He was shown today, as we all were, that the backline, especially the above 3, are on their way. Keep it like that, and don't change it around. We can do it without Houlihan back there - now, play him up forward!

I'm not passing up any opportunity to compliment Bower today. Was phenomenal and will be a star. :thumbsu:

The great defense was across the whole ground. We slowed the ball out of our forward line and allowed numbers to get back and help out the backline. If you notice we also crowded the zones in front of the kicker.

Great work all round by the whole team!
