As huge as Hogan and The Rock were Austin's gimmick (although it wasn't much of a gimmick) was the best seeing as it changed wrestling. People started cheering for the bad guy, bad asses became faces. I liked The Rock better and the Undertaker is a killer classic gimmick but Austins gimmick was revoloutionary.

An alleged drug dealer who objectifies women. Peak sports entertainment right here. If only the WWE had a similar character already, they could run an angle that ties in with the recent nude photo leaks. Another wasted opportunity!

Gimmicks aren't as effective as they used to be because of the way fans are these days but it is hard to go past Taker purely because of how long the gimmick has stayed with him and how effective it still is.

Muhammad Husseins is one of my favourites, he was the the best heel and was so damn good at it. Unfortunately due to the attacks his career was buried.

Broken Matt Hardy is one of the better current day gimmicks , it had blossomed into one of the most over characters in the wrestling world.
