What would everyones ideal list structure be? I mean like how many Key defenders, key forwards, mediums etc. This is how I'd structure my ideal overall list of 46 and who I'd have in those positions:

DEFENDERS (12)

Key Defenders (5):
Tayte Pears
James Frawley
Ben Reid
Luke McPharlin
Matthew Scarlett

Medium Defenders (3):
Andrew Mackie
Grant Birchall
Harry O'Brien

Small Defenders (4):
Graeme Johncock
Jed Adcock
Dyson Heppell
Heath Shaw

MIDFIELD/RUCK (23)

Outside Gut Running Mids (5):

Dane Swan
Brent Stanton
Liam Shiels
Nathan van Berlo
Callan Ward

Inside midfielders (5):

Jobe Watson
Lenny Hayes
Andrew Swallow
Chris Judd
Joel Selwood

Inside/Outside midfielders (6):

Gary Ablett
Scott Pendlebury
Marc Murphy
Dustin Martin
Nat Fyfe
Jack Steven

Outside line-breaker mids (3):

Kade Simpson
Stephen Hill
Harley Bennell

Rucks (4):

Aaron Sandilands
Darren Jolly
Matthew Leuenberger
Nic Naitanui

FORWARDS (11)

Key Forwards (4):

Lance Franklin
Jarryd Roughead
Michael Hurley
Kurt Tippett

Medium Forwards (3):

Stewart Crameri
Andrew Walker
Aaron Cornelious

Small Forwards (4):

Andrew Krakouer
Steve Johnson
Todd Banfield
Chris Mayne

Thoughts? Yes, I'm a bit biased towards Essendon but that's because I know more about their list than any other. I tried to get an even spread

I'd say Heppell would probably be more of a medium defender wouldn't he? He's 189cm that's nearly tall enough to be a KPP. Johnson a medium forward, he's also 189cm. Also surprised at Aaron Cornelius' name even being on your list. The rest I can't argue too much

Personally, i think the list needs at least one lock down small defender. All four of these guys are more loose running half backs, with Stiffy being semi lockdown. Just as an example from Hawthorn, a guy like Guerra, or Murphy, who do less attacking and purely lock down the Milne's, Garlett's and Rioli's. A guy with an accurate booming kick is also nice. A guy like a Suckling, or a Hurn.

I would also like an 'enforcer' in my team somewhere, or a few guys who can really give as good as they get. Guys like Campbell Brown, Guerra or Max Rooke. These kind of guys don't have to be the best players, but if an opposition player starts to get on top, they can get under their skin, or put a big shepherd on, or something like that.

Off the top of my head this is probably pretty close to what I'd go with (obviously not going to fit the salary cap, but this could essentially be a type of structure that could be followed).

Don't think there is any need to class into small/medium, the balance of these types aren't as important. As long as you have an appropriate quantity of quality key position players, quality ruckmen and quality midfielders, that's what most matters and the rest you can often fit around these or transform mids into your forwards or rebounding defenders with only a few specific small and medium forwards and defenders.

Forward pressure, x-factor galore, steady season long high goal scoring performance.

Yeah that'd work.

I'd hate to try and keep this salary cap under the limit:eek:

Travis Cloke says hi, so does Dale Thomas, so does Luke Ball, and mate, i'm just going through the Collingwood list, also, Jolly shouldn't be there, many above him IMO, Krak doubtfull as well.

Edit, Heppel? lol.
