There'll be a number of really strong midfields in a few years, but I think that Gold Coast's will be quite clearly the best. Just shaping really nicely and so much young talent. Ablett will probably still play through their at times, although I expect him to move to a half forward/cameo midfield role in his twilight years.

Freo has the #1 midfield in the comp right now. The dominant display in the prelim against Sydney pretty much confirmed that. With the addition of Sylvia and hopefully Morabito it will only get stronger too :)

I voted for Collingwood in the poll a while ago, I can't remember when I did, but I reckon they do have the best midfield at the moment.

Ports midfield goes alright; Boak, Ebert, Cornes, Hartlett, Wingard and Wines - With Moore and Polec having the potential to be great footballers.

Who is it then? I'd happily say the top 3 are Sydney, Collingwood and Fremantle.

Right, this should be good for a laugh, which side has a better midfield than the two I said?
Sydney and Freo are both above the Pies. People always forget ruckmen, and Freo and Sydney are both easily ahead of Collingwood in that regard. Grundy will be a gun, but he's not ready to carry a ruck division by himself. That makes the Pies 3rd best.

Collingwood's midfield was a little overrated IMO, excellent top end talent but were deficient in some areas, too one paced and lacking inside grunt. Though I do think Kennedy and Adams will be stars help fill the grunt role.

Nick Hayes will be there in 2017, the kid looks like he might be something.
