I got this idea from the best all round players thread.
Who are some of the better players to excel at one particular skill?
Steve Kerr: There have been lots of 3 point specialists (anyone remember Mike Penberthy?)...some today (Boobie, Damon Jones). Usually smaller PGs who cant handle, defend or create. They can shoot though. Steve Kerr was the best. Shot near 50% from 3 on 2 great teams. I can still see his 4 daggers in Game 6 of the WCFs against us.
Corliss Williamson: No range, horrendous rebounder, not shot blocking, medicore D...but he sure could score from the low block. he was beastly down there, despite being 6'6-6'7. Monty Williams was another guy whose role was primarily to score from down there.
Shawn Bradley: Developed a decent mid range set shot late in his career, but he was an elite shot blocker, and competes with Erick Dampier for the prestigious title of best ever Mavs center.
Stretching this definition a bit.
Glenn Robinson: An elite mid range shooter. Not much else. bad rebounder, defender, passer... but could get open or shoot over defenders. Not much else to his game. Michael Beasley...this could be your future.
Definitely stretching it now
Reggie Miller/Rip Hamlton: Nether has good handles, creative ability with the ball, average passers, average at best defenders...but both knew how to use screens to get open. Not much else to their games.
