Hi all

Just after some advice on the best way to get EPL tickets. Does anyone know of any sites where people onsell tickets? Is it best to try and get in contact with the club?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Hey mate,

Which games are you interested in going to see?

It's a competitive thing to get tickets - so I recommend looking at the clubs websites under the ticketing section. If you get in early enough you can buy them online.

Definitely look at each clubs website as they all have different systems in place.

Reading were brilliant to contact with when I went over there for a ticket and Hull were never short of contacting me as well in regards to my tickets. For both games there, I had front row seats at those two venues.

Wolves it appeared did not want me attending...so I didn't.

I want to go to chelsea vs arsenal on boxing day, I don't really understand how to buy tickets off the site. :o

Will definately be in London on the weekend of 20 Nov. Having a bit of a look around this afternoon I will probably try and get tickets to B/ham v Chelsea (do a day trip) and Fulham v Man City. From what I can on the club sites tickets will go on sale to the general public early this week so I will probably just buy them that way. I am really keen to go to the north london derby that weekend but I would imagine that tickets would be too hard to get and/or too expensive.

Tickets for Blues are fairly easy to get but for the Chelsea game you'd want to get in quick. If you're planning on going amongst the Blues fans - best atmosphere is in the Tilton, best view in the Kop but of course you pay extra. I'd recommend drinking in the George at the top of the Tilton Road, it does get packed about an hour before kick off, the atmosphere is great though. Police presence will be big for that game so get to Small Heath earlyish because they'll march Chelsea from New St Station up through Digbeth to St. Andrews and that can slow traffic - your cabbie might have to go a roundabout way. It's not far to walk (15 mins) but given the Zulu's and Headhunters will be out looking for each other, it might be better to get a cab for this one if you're not acquainted with the area. If you're going up there to support Chelsea and are in the away end - don't wear colours and drink in the City Centre and not near the ground. If you need any advice on Birmingham & St. Andrews, PM me I'll be happy to help.

Fulham is the best club for getting tickets in London. They're always available and the club is very helpful.

And yeah, probably forget about the North London Derby....

I think you need to be some sort of member to even give yourself a chance.

This. I would be signing up on the club website, most clubs its about £20-£50. Even then getting a ticket to that game would be almost impossible.

On the Arsenal site closer to the game it will have the game and availability. There were a few shops near Picadilly Circus with 'Football Info' that were selling tickets for about £80, probally alot more for boxing day v Chelsea.

The Newcastle one seems easy enough to use (not that I have, I just use Season Members that arnt attending) and most of the PL sides use the same system. Season members can book tickets on 'x' date, club members a week or two after and then general sale a week or two after that.

I'm hoping to get tickets to the April 23rd Man United match vs Everton at Old Trafford and from my research so far, I'll need to become a member ($50) and then apply for tickets ($50-80) which becomes available about a month prior to the match.

Obviously the chances of success is going to change from team to team and game to game and you might even be able to get away without the membership.

Also, some forums have a 'ticket exchange', where season ticket holders sell their season ticket for a week that they can't make it. Check that out.

That's what I thought. :(

I think it costs about $50 (AUS) to become a Red Member.

Even then, the higher membership levels have access to the tickets a month before the rest and will probably claim most of them.

The general public might only have the chance to buy Carling Cup tickets and maybe some for Group Stage CL.

I became a Man City member. I get priorities for tickets so when i go hoping i get ticks alright.

My advice would be to look at doing a tour, they charge a lot but that might be ur best bet other than going throuhg the clubs. Id imagine it would be hard to go to a big game like Chelsea v Arsenal on boxing day....so try and get a tour package

There's an easy way mate.

Find out where Moomba lives and roll him for his season ticket.

That way everyone's happy.

When I went to see Liverpool at the start of the year I used this site:

http://www.thesportsboxoffice.com/Premier+League/

Basically order the ticket online then they ask for a delivery address. I don't know if it's changed since I did it but they asked me for a UK address to deliver it to because they only issued the tickets a week before the game, so obviously you don't want it sent to Australia at that time. That was just my experience though - I just looked at the site and you can definitely put an Aussie address there, but be sure to check with that they can send it to Australia well before the game, else just give them a UK address.

The good news with this site is you get the ticket guaranteed. The bad news is how much it costs. But in saying that, it is the Premier League, you'll be paying top dollar pretty much any way you want to get in. I saw Liverpool vs Everton at Anfield and it cost 300 pounds  Although my attitude was that I was only there once, I wanted to see it and had the money to spend, I wanted minimum fuss and got it.

You can also call the club, tell them you're a fan from overseas and see what they can do for you, but your best bet with this is to do it for a low key kind of game. If you're wanting to go to a derby or another big type game I wouldn't even bother.

Touts and scalpers are definitely an option, although I don't know much about it except that at the game's I went to they're outside the ground going up to people and asking in hushed tones "Want a ticket?"

Again, don't know anything about it or whether there's some stories out there about people being sold dud tickets, but if you're prepared to do it, be prepared to pay top dollar for the ticket and do it discreetly.

I have realised that I got my dates mixed up and will actually be in the UK a week later. Has anyone ever been to Villa Park? Can you recommend which is the best stand to sit in?

Thanks
